Lilly George - Women's Basketball

Ferris State senior forward Lilly George had her best game of the year on Saturday (Feb. 15) as she hit five three-pointers in helping lift the Bulldogs to a 68-56 triumph over Northern Michigan inside FSU's Jim Wink Arena. On Senior Day, George played a key role as the Bulldogs took a two-game lead atop the GLIAC North Division standings with the win and put themselves in position to win the program's first league title since 2012. Her play also helped Ferris State beat Michigan Tech on Thursday night and home and has enabled the Bulldogs to build a 18-7 overall record to date this year along with a spot in the GLIAC Tournament.

Riley Blair - Women's Basketball

Ferris State senior forward Riley Blair had another big week for the Bulldogs as they stretched their winning streak to seven consecutive games and moved into first place in the GLIAC North Division. The senior standout averaged 22.5 points along with 8.5 rebounds for the Bulldogs while totaling 45 points, 17 rebounds, five assists, two steals and a block in combined wins over Wisconsin-Parkside and Purdue Northwest. She totaled a game-high 29 points with eight boards and two steals in Thursday's impressive 78-53 divisional showdown victory over the Rangers and then came back with 16 points, nine boards and three assists in Saturday's 77-70 overtime win over the Pride. For the week, she shot an impressive 61.5% from the floor and went 11-of-11 (100%) from the free throw line along with two-of-three (.667) behind the three-point arc.

Riley Blair - Women's Basketball

Ferris State senior forward Riley Blair averaged 20 points a game as the Bulldogs earned a league split coming off the holiday break against strong competition. Blair scored a team-leading 23 points as FSU took nationally third-ranked rival Grand Valley State to the wire in a 72-68 home setback on Thursday night while adding four boards, two steals and a block. She came back with 17 points, six boards, a steal, an assist and a block in Saturday's 85-74 road victory at Davenport. For the week, she shot 64.3% from the floor and netted 40 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks.

Riley Blair - Women's Basketball

Ferris State senior forward Riley Blair had another huge game on Sunday (Dec. 1) as the Bulldogs rolled past visiting Lewis 88-69 in regional action at Jim Wink Arena. Blair scored a game-high 28 points, including 22 in the first half as FSU put the game away versus the Flyers. She went 12-of-14 (85.7%) from the floor and hit all four of her three-point attempts in the game while adding four rebounds, two steals and an assist in only 20 minutes of action as FSU improved to 5-1 overall this year. It marked her second consecutive game with 27 points or more for the Bulldogs.

Adrienne Anderson - Women's Basketball

Ferris State University junior guard Adrienne Anderson continued her impressive play to start the year as she totaled a team-high 15 points with five boards, three steals and an assist while playing only 16 minutes in a dominating 85-59 win over Hillsdale in regional action on Thursday night. Anderson got the Bulldogs off to a fast start as FSU scored the first 19 points in the game. She shot 78% from the floor (7-9) and made her only free throw attempt as Ferris State improved to 2-1 overall with the home-opening triumph.

Pia Nagel - Women's Soccer

Played in two games against Northwood; Finished with four points on the weekend with a goal and two assists for the Bulldogs; Led team to 6-0 quarterfinal-round win over the Timberwolves on Sunday; Scored all four of her points in Sunday's victory; inched closer to history in several categories. Nagel's 33 single-season points are now fifth most all-time. Her seven assists are fourth most in a single season in school history. Nagel's 13 goals are now fourth best all-time, tied with all-time career leading point-scorer Emily Rogers (2003). Nagel is also now seventh in program history in career goals with 23 and eighth in points with 57.

Allyson Cappel - Volleyball

Ferris State University senior outside hitter Allyson Cappel led the 20th-ranked Bulldogs to a weekend home sweep in league action at the Ewigleben Sports Arena. She totaled 34 kills with 29 digs, two blocks and an ace while hitting .320 overall for the weekend as the Bulldogs topped Saginaw Valley State and Lake Superior State to stay near the top of the GLIAC race. Cappel produced 26 kills and 22 digs with two blocks in Friday's 3-2 win over SVSU before adding eight kills and seven digs in only two sets of work as FSU swept LSSU on Saturday. She averaged 5.2 points per set along with 4.86 kills and 4.14 digs on the weekend.

Katie Etelamaki - Cross Country

Ferris State University senior cross country standout Katie Etelamaki earned All-GLIAC First Team honors with a fifth-place individual finish at the 2019 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships held last Saturday in Westville, Ind. Etelamaki was clocked in 21:39.3 in taking fifth place for the FSU women as the Bulldogs' top finisher. Her performance helped the squad to a sixth-place team finish in the annual event.

Allyson Cappel - Volleyball

Senior All-America hitter Allyson Cappel of the nationally 13th-ranked Ferris State University women's volleyball squad capped off a big weekend by being named to the 2019 Midwest Region Crossover All-Tournament Team. Cappel had a huge weekend, leading the Bulldogs to a 2-1 overall record at the Midwest Region Crossover as the league's top seed in Indianapolis. She totaled 60 kills, 38 digs, four blocks and an ace in FSU's 12 sets at the event. Cappel produced 15 kills with 15 digs in Friday's 3-1 opening win against Walsh and then came back with a season-high 31 kills, 15 digs and two blocks in a thrilling 3-2 triumph over #17 Rockhurst (Mo.) in Saturday morning action. She finished with 14 kills, eight digs and two blocks along with an ace in FSU's final 3-0 setback to Missouri-St. Louis, which has won 20 matches this year. For the weekend, she hit .300 overall and notched 63.5 total points or an average of 5.3 points per set.

Allyson Cappel - Volleyball

Ferris State Volleyball's Allyson Cappel led the 16th-ranked Bulldogs to a perfect weekend as FSU topped Northern Michigan and Michigan Tech by identical 3-0 scores in Big Rapids. She produced a team-high 26 kills along with 21 digs, five blocks and four aces in the two contests for 33.5 total points or an average of 5.6 points per set. Cappel also hit an impressive .532 for the weekend, including a .625 figure in Friday's 3-0 win over NMU when she had 10 kills, eight digs, two blocks and an ace. She came back on Saturday to notch a match-high 16 kills with 13 digs, three blocks and three aces while playing a leading role in FSU's 3-0 win over the Huskies in a first-place showdown in the GLIAC North. The senior standout helped the Bulldogs stretch their win streak to five in a row and all five have come in straight-sets.

Mackenzie Dawes - Soccer

Ferris State University junior forward Mackenzie Dawes tallied a team-high tying five points on the weekend as the 11th-ranked Bulldogs split a pair of non-conference contests against GLIAC counterparts at the Bulldog Soccer Field. Dawes totaled three points on a goal and an assist while scoring the game-winner in FSU's decisive 6-0 triumph over Davenport on Friday in Big Rapids. She then came back to score FSU's lone goal on Sunday in a 3-1 setback to Ashland in the Bulldogs' first loss of the year. For the week, she totaled seven shots with five on goal while notching two goals and an assist.

Pia Nagel - Soccer

Ferris State University sophomore forward Pia Nagel tallied a pair of weekend goals as the 11th-ranked Bulldogs stayed unbeaten on the year with two non-conference wins this past week. Both of Nagel's goals came on Sunday as the Bulldogs posted a 2-0 shutout win over Saginaw Valley State in non-league play in Big Rapids, including the game-winner in the first half. She also helped FSU to a 2-1 triumph at Walsh on Thursday. For the week, she scored four points on two goals and finished with two shots on goal as she was perfect against SVSU with a 1.000 shots on goal percentage. Nagel had her ninth career game-winning goal and is now two away from tying the school record for career game-winning goals set in 2003 by Emily Rogers.

Alison Chesterfield - Soccer

Ferris State Alison Chesterfield remained perfect in net last weekend as she stretched her shutout streak to 380 consecutive minutes to open the year with back-to-back wins on a long road trip. The Bulldog senior helped FSU to a 2-0 win at Minot State (ND) on Friday before closing the trip with a 1-0 triumph at Northern State (SD) on Sunday. She had four saves in Friday's outing while adding three more on Sunday for the nationally-ranked Bulldogs. Chesterfield owns four shutouts this year, including the two this past weekend, and moved into a tie for third-place in school history with 10 career shutouts while also recording her 16th career victory on Sunday to move into fourth place in program history.

Allyson Cappel - Volleyball

Ferris State Volleyball's Allyson Cappel helped the Bulldogs get off to a perfect 4-0 start as the squad won all four matches in their season-opening home invitational at the Ewigleben Sports Complex. The senior standout garnered all-tournament team accolades and finished the weekend with 50 kills while ranking among the tournament's leaders in kills, digs, and service aces. Behind the play of Cappel, FSU finished as the only unbeaten team in the season-opening event, beating previously undefeated Seton Hill (Pa.) in the final match of the tournament along with a key three-set triumph over Gannon (Pa.). The Bulldogs also swept Ohio Dominican and beat McKendree (Ill.) in the home action.

Kodi Ramirez - Softball

Ferris State sophomore second baseman Kodi Ramirez tallied a team-leading .571 average in six outings during the final week of the regular-season while notching a team-high 12 hits with four doubles and two RBI's. Ramirez had multiple hits in each of her final four games of the week, including a season-high four hits in an 8-7 extra innings win over Northwood on Saturday in FSU's final home action. She totaled an .857 slugging percentage for the week and a .571 on-base percentage in 21 total at-bats while also stealing two bases and scoring five runs. Along with the game one win over Northwood, she also had two hits in two different games against league leader Grand Valley State on the road along with the game two setback to the Timberwolves. Overall, she had five extra-base hits and accounted for 18 total bases.

Paige Kortz - Softball

Ferris State sophomore outfielder Paige Kortz had a big week for the Bulldogs as she compiled a squad-best .522 batting average with 12 hits and four RBI's in six outings. Kortz also notched a .609 slugging figure and drew two walks with three stolen bases and two doubles on the week while scoring six times. She had 23 at-bats and tallied multiple hits in four of the six contests with at least one hit in five games.  Her performance included four hits with two RBI's in a 14-12 win over Saginaw Valley State on Friday, which helped FSU solidify its GLIAC Tournament hopes heading into the final week of the regular-season. She also had two hits with an RBI in a 7-2 triumph over Wayne State on Saturday. Overall, Kortz accounted for 14 total bases and had no errors in the field while playing every inning in center field.

Katie Etelamaki - Women's Track & Field

Ferris State University distance standout Katie Etelamaki led the Bulldogs this past weekend as FSU opened the outdoor track and field campaign at the Michigan State Spartan Open in East Lansing. The standout runner was the Bulldogs' highest female finisher as she clocked 17:44.70 in earning runner-up honors in the 5,000 meters at the meet. The meet featured athletes from across the region from all levels of competition.

Kylie Winkels - Softball 

Ferris State University freshman outfielder Kylie Winkels hit a team-leading .538 overall as the Bulldogs opened GLIAC action on the road over the weekend. Winkels produced seven hits along with six RBI's in four games as FSU faced Ashland and Saginaw Valley State in a pair of twinbills. She notched four hits and five RBI's in a 10-8 game one setback at SVSU on Sunday before adding two more in the Bulldogs 10-3 game two win. For the weekend, she posted a .692 slugging percentage and accounted for nine total bases along with two extra base hits.

Logan Fleming - Softball 

Ferris State University senior infielder Logan Fleming had an impressive weekend of action for the Bulldogs as FSU opened play in The Spring Games in Clermont, Fla. Fleming hit a team-leading .500 overall in four weekend games while producing seven hits, four RBI's and scoring four runs for FSU. She homered once and tripled while also belting a double in her 14 plate appearances. Her play came against four strong regional opponets, including #12 Saint Anselm, #17 Indianapolis along with a team receiving votes nationally in Winona State and a regional matchup versus Drury. She drove in four runs and homered on three hits as the Bulldogs closed the weekend with a 6-5 win over Drury on Sunday. Fleming had a .929 slugging percentage for the weekend and totaled three extra base hits while committing no errors in the field.

Shaniya Huggins - Women's Basketball

Ferris State University sophomore guard Shaniya Huggins  led the Bulldogs to a big road win over Lake Superior State to close out the regular-season on Thursday (Feb. 28) night. She tallied a game-high 18 points with six rebounds, five assists and a steal in the 69-59 triumph as FSU clinched the number five seed for the league tournament. In the victory, Huggins shot 53 percent from the floor and hit a huge three late in the second half with the Lakers trying to rally. Her play was critical as FSU played without a starter in Riley Blair due to injury. The victory assured FSU of the program's first winning campaign since 2011-12 as the Bulldogs notched their 14th victory of the season.

Logan Fleming - Softball 

The Bulldog senior tallied a team-leading .643 average in FSU's opening four games of the season on Feb. 3-4 as the Bulldogs went 2-2 overall. Fleming notched seven RBI's with nine hits and two runs scored in 14 at-bats for the Bulldogs while compiling a .786 slugging percentage. In the opening weekend of action, Fleming totaled three hits and drove in two runs in FSU's 9-1 season-opening win over Findlay while also adding three hits and three RBI's in game one against Kentucky State on Feb. 4 before coming back with three hits and two RBI's in an 11-4 triumph in the nightcap the same day. Overall, Fleming notched three games with three hits and batted in at least two runs in three games of the four-game trip. She also had a stolen base and accounted for 11 total bases while notching a .929 fielding percentage.

Riley Blair - Women's Basketball

Ferris State junior Riley Blair continued her stellar play as of late as the Bulldogs notched their third consecutive victory with an impressive 62-46 triumph over Lake Superior State in GLIAC North Division action on Saturday (Jan. 26) before a large crowd inside Jim Wink Arena. Blair scored a game-high 20 points and pulled down six rebounds with two blocked shots, an assist and a steal in the win. She made 10-of-14 (71.4%) field goals in the victory and has averaged more than 20 points per game in the last three contests for the Bulldogs as they continue their push for the GLIAC postseason. Her play has been critical for a team that has battled thru several injuries since the holiday break.

Riley Blair - Women's Basketball

Ferris State University junior Riley Blair had an impressive weekend of action as the Bulldogs notched back-to-back home wins over Purdue Northwest and Parkside at FSU's Jim Wink Arena. Blair averaged 20 points and 12 rebounds per game for FSU in the two victories while shooting 59% from the floor and 80% at the line. She tallied 20 points with 12 boards, four assists, three steals and a block in Thursday's 94-78 win over the Pride before coming back with 20 points, 12 boards, two assists, two steals and two blocks in Saturday's 74-60 win over the Rangers. For the weekend, she totaled 40 points, 24 rebounds, six assists, five steals and three blocks while going 16-of-27 (59%) from the floor and eight-of-10 (80%) at the line. Her play was critical as FSU played both weekend games without three key players who were either starters or regular members of the playing rotation due to injury.

Alexis Bush - Women's Basketball

Ferris State University senior guard Lexi Bush led the Bulldogs in a pair of GLIAC road setbacks in Michigan's Upper Peninsula over the weekend. Bush scored a team-high 19 points with eight rebounds and a blocked shot in Saturday's 53-42 setback at divisional leader Northern Michigan as FSU battled to the finish. She knocked down five three's in the outing. It followed Thursday's tilt at Michigan Tech in which she notched eight points with two boards, an assist and a steal for FSU.

Alexis Bush - Women's Basketball

Ferris State University senior guard Alexis Bush had an impressive three-game stretch for the Bulldogs as they returned to action following the holiday break. Bush tallied 54 points with 15 rebounds, five assists and four steals in the three contests. She notched 21 points with three assists, three boards and two steals in the Bulldogs' close 80-76 setback at Maryville on Dec. 29 before coming back to score 15 points with five rebounds, an assist and a steal as FSU battled to the finish in a 76-61 loss to 10th-ranked rival Grand Valley State. Finally, Bush totaled 18 points to go with seven rebounds, an assist and a steal in Saturday's 83-77 league home win over Davenport. Her play was critical as the Bulldogs have lost two regular players in their rotation due to injury. For the three games, she shot 53% from the floor and went nine-of-12 (75%) at the free throw line while also making a trio of three's.

Adrienne Anderson - Women's Basketball

Ferris State University sophomore guard Adrienne Anderson played a lead role as the Bulldogs improved to 3-1 in the GLIAC with home wins over Northwood and Saginaw Valley State. Anderson averaged a team-leading 16.5 points while totaling 33 points, five rebounds, five steals and three assists in the two-game stretch in addition to shooting 54 percent from the floor.

She had 24 points, three steals, three rebounds and an assist in Thursday's impressive 76-63 victory against NU before coming back with nine points, two steals, two assists and two boards in a big 72-44 triumph over SVSU on Saturday when she saw limited action (22 minutes) after the Bulldogs built a commanding lead.

Shaniya Huggins - Women's Basketball

Ferris State University sophomore guard Shaniya Huggins tallied 23 points, five assists, five rebounds and two steals as the Bulldogs suffered a 71-66 road setback at Southern Indiana in their only game last week. Huggins shot 50% from the floor and went eight-of-eight from the free throw stripe in the game, which FSU led over a very good USI squad much of the way. She added a team-high 19 points again in Monday's 91-77 road victory at Hillsdale to open this week's play.

Tia VanSuilichem - Women's Soccer

Ferris State University junior defender Tia VanSuilichem had a big week for the Bulldogs in NCAA Tournament action as she tallied three goals in FSU's three national tournament contests. VanSuilichem scored a goal in each of FSU's first-ever tourney games as the Bulldogs opened with back-to-back wins at home over McKendree (Ill.) and Ohio Valley before fallling to top-ranked Grand Valley State in the D2 Sweet Sixteen.

Allyson Cappel - Volleyball

Ferris State University junior outside hitter Allyson Cappel had a big weekend for the eighth-ranked Bulldogs as FSU secured a fifth-straight GLIAC Regular Season Championship by sweeping second-place Michigan Tech and Northern Michigan by identical 3-0 scores. Cappel averaged 5.00 kills and 4.67 digs per set in the two wins, including 17 kills and 16 digs in the win over MTU on Friday night along with 13 kills and 12 digs against NMU on Saturday. She hit .247 for the weekend and also had an ace and a block as FSU finished league play unbeaten at 16-0 this year and improved to 24-3 on the season.

Allyson Cappel - Volleyball

Ferris State University junior All-America hitter Allyson Cappel had another big weekend of action as the 10th-ranked Bulldogs stayed unbeaten and atop the GLIAC with two road wins. Cappel averaged 3.25 kills and 3.00 digs per set as FSU improved to 21-4 overall and 14-0 in the GLIAC. She tallied 13 kills with 12 digs and three blocks in Friday's 3-2 victory at Saginaw Valley State before coming back with 13 kills and 12 digs on Saturday with a .355 hitting figure in a 3-0 sweep at Lake Superior State. For the weekend, she totaled 26 kills, 24 digs, three blocks and an ace with a .221 attack figure while notching 3.6 points per set.

Bri Rogers - Women's Soccer

Ferris State sophomore defender Bri Rogers had a big weekend for the Bulldogs as nationally 12th-ranked FSU split a pair of tightly-contested matches to secure home field for the opening round of the conference tournament. Rogers scored twice, both on penalty kicks, in Sunday's 2-1 home triumph over Davenport at the Bulldog Soccer Field. Her final penalty kick came with less than two minutes remaining and proved to be the game-winner. She also played a key defensive role as FSU took nationally top-ranked Grand Valley State to double overtime on Friday before falling 2-1. For the week, she totaled four points on her two goals for the Bulldogs, who improved to 13-2-2 overall and 5-1-2 in the GLIAC.

Pia Nagel - Women's Soccer

Ferris State University freshman forward Pia Nagel had a big week as the 12th-ranked Bulldogs stretched their unbeaten school-record streak to 14 consecutive contests with a pair of non-league wins. Nagel tallied a team-high seven points with three goals and an assist on the week while producing nine shots, including seven on goal with two game-winning markers. She tallied the Bulldogs' opening goal for the game-winner as part of a two-goal output on Wednesday (Oct. 10) in a 4-0 victory at Tiffin and then came back with the eventual game-winner again while adding an assist on Sunday (Oct. 14) in a 4-1 non-league triumph at home over Northwood. Nagel broke the school's single-season record for game-winning goals in the win at Tiffin and extended the mark to six this year against NU.

Bri Rogers - Women's Soccer

Ferris State University's Bri Rogers had a big weekend for the nationally-ranked Bulldogs as FSU rolled to back-to-back league road wins, stretching their unbeaten streak to 12 consecutive contests. Rogers' play on the back end helped FSU outscore Purdue Northwest and Parkside 8-1 in the two outings combined both played on the road. She notched four total points and nine shots in the weekend with a game-winning goal and four shots on net. All four of her points came in Sunday's 4-1 decision at Parkside with a pair of goals. She broke a 1-1 tie with a goal in the 39th minute and then added another goal only five seconds later to give FSU a 3-1 advantage late in the first half that they would not relinquish. Both goals were unassisted and her play defensively helped FSU limit the Rangers to only five total shots. FSU also gave up only six shots to Purdue Northwest in Friday's 4-0 shutout victory.

Katie O'Connell - Volleyball

Ferris State University sophomore hitter Katie O'Connell had a big weekend for the sixth-ranked Bulldogs, who earned a league road sweep in West Michigan. O'Connell tallied 35 kills, 28 digs, four blocks and an ace while hitting .242 overall in wins over Davenport and rival Grand Valley State on the road. She notched 17 kills with 12 digs and four blocks in Friday's 3-2 triumph against the Panthers and then came back with 18 kills, 16 digs and an ace in Saturday's 3-1 win at GVSU. She paced the Bulldogs in total kills in both matches and averaged 3.89 kills along with 3.11 digs and 4.2 total points per set to help FSU improve to 14-3 overall and 9-0 in the GLIAC.

Carley Dubbert - Women's Soccer

Ferris State senior forward and captain Carley Dubbert had a big weekend in helping the 17th-ranked Bulldogs to a road sweep in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Dubbert tallied a team-high three weekend points and played a key role on both game-winning goals as FSU stretched its winning streak to a school all-time best eight wins in a row. She had the lone assist on freshman Pia Nagel's game-winner in Friday's 1-0 triumph over Michigan Tech in Houghton and then came back to notch her own game-winning goal on Sunday in a 2-1 victory at Northern Michigan. She finished with three shots on goal for the weekend for the Bulldogs, who have now won five one-goal outings this year.

Courtney Brewer - Volleyball

Ferris State University women's volleyball standout Courtney Brewer (Muskegon/Mona Shores) led the 11th-ranked Bulldogs to a league road sweep this past week as FSU topped Northwood, Northern Michigan and Michigan Tech to stay atop the GLIAC North standings undefeated. Brewer totaled 40 kills in the three contests while hitting an impressive .321 overall to go with 10 digs and seven blocks. She had 16 kills, three digs and two blocks in Tuesday's 3-1 win at Northwood before coming back with 12 kills apiece in both FSU's 3-0 sweep at Northern Michigan on Friday and 3-1 triumph at Michigan Tech on Saturday in a first-place showdown. She hit .429 versus the Wildcats with three blocks while totaling five digs and two blocks versus MTU.

Katie Etelamaki - Women's Cross Country

Ferris State University standout runner Kathryn Etelamaki claimed first place overall in the 44th annual running of the Ray Helsing Bulldog Invitational last Saturday (Sept. 8) at FSU's Katke Golf Course. In the Bulldogs' season-opening home invite, she clocked 18:57.5 overall on the 5K course to win the individual title while leading FSU to the team championship. She led a contingent of five Bulldog runners in the top five overall in the race.

Pia Nagel - Women's Soccer

Ferris State University freshman forward Pia Nagel had an outstanding start to her Bulldog career as she scored a goal in both of FSU's home outings over the weekend at the new Bulldog Soccer Field. Nagel registered FSU's lone marker in a 2-1 double overtime setback to Missouri-St. Louis on Friday. She then came back to score the game-winner on Sunday in the Bulldogs' thrilling 3-2 triumph over returning NCAA Tourney qualifier Bellarmine (Ky.) in regional action. Nagel finished the weekend with five total shots for the Bulldogs.

Allyson Cappel - Volleyball

Ferris State Volleyball's Allyson Cappel got off to a big start in 2018 as she led the then 21st-ranked Bulldogs to a perfect 4-0 mark in the squad's season-opening home invitational Thursday thru Saturday (Aug. 23-25). She tallied 4.64 kills and 3.86 digs per set while hitting .244 for the weekend as the Bulldogs beat two nationally-ranked teams along with two others receiving votes in the AVCA preseason poll. The Bulldogs' Cappel compiled 65 kills, 54 digs, seven blocks and two aces in wins over Upper Iowa, #17 Winona State, #1 Concordia-St. Paul and Hillsdale. The junior standout netted 22 kills and 23 digs in a key regional win over Hillsdale to wrap up the event and also had a team-high 12 kills and 10 digs while hitting an impressive .303 in Friday night's impressive 3-0 sweep over defending national-champion and preseason top-ranked Concordia-St. Paul. Overall, she averaged 5.1 points per set on the weekend and was named to the Ferris State Invitational All-Tournament Team. Cappel led all tournament players with her 4.64 kills per set on the weekend.

Kathryn Etelamaki - Women's Track & Field

Ferris State sophomore runner Kathryn Etelamaki led the Bulldog women's outdoor track and field squad at the 2018 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships held in Ashland, Ohio. Etelamaki paced the women's team and earned all-conference accolades with a third-place finish in the 5,000 meters at the annual league meet. She was clocked in 18:20.60 in the distance event and was among 14 top-eight finishers for the Bulldogs at the conference championships this year.

Paige Kortz - Softball

Ferris State freshman centerfielder Paige Kortz had a huge week for the Bulldogs as FSU swept four weekend home games to stay in contention for a potential GLIAC Tournament berth. Kortz hit .556 overall in six outings this past week while compiling a team-high 10 hits in 18 at-bats. She scored twice and drove in two runs while notching a .556 slugging percentage at the plate. Kortz totaled eight of her 10 hits in a four-game weekend sweep over Wayne State and Saginaw Valley State, including three hits in a 3-0 shutout of the Cardinals in game on Saturday followed by two more in the nightcap. Additionally, she tallied two hits in a 5-3 opening-game win over Wayne State Friday and had two hits in game one against Ashland last Tuesday (April 17) in Livonia. She accounted for 10 total bases and was also perfect with a 1.000 percentage in the field.

Sarah Meredith - Softball

Ferris State University sophomore first baseman Sarah Meredith had a huge day in the Bulldogs' league road split at Tiffin on Sunday (April 8) as she compiled six hits, six RBI's, two home runs and a double while batting .750 for the twinbill in Ohio. The sophomore standout notched three RBI's in both games and had a homer in each contest as the Bulldogs compiled 15 runs and 22 hits in the two-game set while nearly pulling off the sweep. She totaled three hits in game one, including a home run and a double as the Bulldogs fell 8-7 after holding a six-run lead going into the final at-bat. She then came back with three more hits, three RBI's, a homer and a run scored in a decisive 8-2 in the nightcap. Overall, she accounted for 13 total bases with three extra base hits and scored twice in eight plate appearances. She compiled a 1.625 slugging percentage and a .750 on-base effort wihle owning a .941 fielding percentage with 16 put-outs as FSU returned to action for the first time in more than a week.

Baylee Thompson - Women's Golf

Ferris State University freshman golfer Baylee Thompson shot a 158 total while placing fifth for the Bulldogs at the Ohio Dominican Snowflake Open, which took place this past weekend at the Cumberland Trail Golf Club in Pataskala, Ohio. Thompson shot identical rounds of 79 each day in the 36-hole tournament as the Bulldogs came away with a fifth-place team finish in the event. The Bulldogs will be back in action April 8-9 at the NC4K Classic in Blacklick, Ohio.

Kathryn Etelamaki - Women's Track & Field

Ferris State sophomore runner Kathryn Etelamaki had a big weekend at the Grand Valley State "Tune-Up" meet last weekend in Allendale. She placed 16th in the 5,000 meter run invite in a time of 17:13.77, which topped the NCAA Division II National Provisional qualifying standard. She then came back on Saturday to clock 10:07.69 while finishing sixth overall in the 3,000 meter open race. The meet was the final competition for the Bulldogs prior to the 2018 GLIAC Indoor Championships, which take place this weekend back in Allendale at Grand Valley State.

Shaniya Huggins - Women's Basketball

Ferris State University freshman guard Shaniya Huggins led FSU to a league road split in Ohio this past weekend. She tallied 10 points per game and shot 60% from the floor. Huggins totaled 11 points in Thursday's 87-68 win at Tiffin before coming back to score a team-high nine points on Saturday in a setback at nationally top-ranked Ashland. She also shot 78% from the floor in the two games while finishing with 20 points, five rebounds and two assists overall.

Rachel McInerney - Women's Basketball

Ferris State University senior center Rachel McInerney had another big week for FSU in back-to-back games against Northwood and Saginaw Valley State inside FSU's Jim Wink Arena. The senior standout netted 22 points on 9-of-16 shooting in Thursday's 77-69 league home setback to the Timberwolves before coming back to score 31 points on a 12-of-23 performance in a 78-67 home triumph over Saginaw Valley State on Saturday. She was a perfect 9-of-9 from the line in the two games. McInerney had a double-double in both contests with 10 rebounds against NU and 19 versus SVSU when she also blocked eight shots.

Rachel McInerney - Women's Basketball

Ferris State University senior center Rachel McInerney had another big afternoon as she led the Bulldogs to a decisive 75-59 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) home win over visiting Lake Superior State on Sunday (Jan. 28) afternoon in FSU's Jim Wink Arena. McInerney paced FSU with a game-high 18 points to go with seven rebounds, three blocks, two assists and two steals as the Bulldogs won their 11th game of the year, including three of the last four overall. She shot 75% (6-8) from the floor and 85.7% (6-7) from the line in the triumph. The senior standout scored 11 of her points and was perfect from the floor (4-4) and the line (3-3) in the third quarter alone as FSU expanded a four-point halftime edge into a 30-point lead in the stanza. McInerney then sat out the entire fourth quarter as the Bulldogs had an opportunity to play reserves in the victory. Her performance came after the game had been delayed by a full day due to the closure of the Mackinac Bridge and the Lakers' bus troubles en route to Big Rapids.

Alexis Bush - Women's Basketball

Ferris State University junior guard Alexis Bush averaged a team-high 13.5 points per game as the Bulldogs split a pair of league road games this past week. Bush scored 15 points with three rebounds and three assists in Thursday's decisive 94-68 triumph over Purdue Northwest in the first-ever series matchup. She then came back to record 12 points with four boards and three assists in FSU's 76-57 setback at rival Grand Valley State when she also hit four three's, which helped FSU climb back into the game early in the second half. For the week, she shot 50% from the floor and made six-of-11 (54.5%) three's while also hitting all three of her free throws. She totaled 27 points, seven rebounds and six assists with a steal in the two games.

Rachel McInerney - Women's Basketball

Ferris State University senior center Rachel McInerney had a big week for the Bulldogs as FSU split two games against Upper Peninsula foes Michigan Tech and Northern Michigan inside FSU's Jim Wink Arena. McInerney tallied a season-high 30 points and 16 rebounds with two blocks, two steals and an assist as the Bulldogs nearly upset 16th-ranked Michigan Tech in a 80-77 setback on Thursday (Jan. 11) in a game in which FSU led for more than 36 minutes. On Saturday (Jan. 13), she had another big performance with a team-high 19 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block as FSU led for another 37 minutes in a 62-52 triumph over Northern Michigan. For the weekend, she tallied 49 points, 27 rebounds, five assists, four steals and three blocks while shooting 57% from the floor and 90% from the free throw line.

Ferris State University junior guard Alexis Bush had a big stretch as FSU resumed play to start the second half of the season. In three games, Bush averaged 14 points, 4.3 assists, 4.0 rebounds and a steal while shooting 46% from the floor and 75% at the line. She tallied 10 points with five assists, three rebounds and a steal in the Bulldogs' 91-67 non-league home win over Maryville (Dec. 30) before coming back to notch a season-high 22 points with five assists and three boards in a close 76-72 league home setback to Wayne State (Jan. 4). Finally, she closed the stretch with 10 points, six rebounds and three assists in FSU's 68-63 GLIAC road loss at Davenport (Jan. 6). For the three games, Bush finished with 42 points, 12 rebounds, 13 assists and two steals.

Ferris State University senior center Rachel McInerney had another big week for the Bulldogs in a pair of close road setbacks at Northwood and Saginaw Valley State where both outings were decided by five points or less. McInerney averaged 18.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.0 blocks per contest while also shooting 81.8% from the free throw stripe. She notched 22 points with seven boards, three assists and three blocks in Thursday's narrow 80-76 setback in Midland before totaling 15 points, five rebounds, four assists and a block in Saturday's 77-72 loss at SVSU as she returned to her hometown. For the week, she netted 37 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists and four blocks for FSU.

Ferris State University senior libero Lauren Reminga earned all-tournament team recognition as the Bulldog volleyball team competed in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Tournament this past week in Romeoville, Ill. Reminga tallied 22 digs in the Bulldogs' NCAA first round victory over McKendree and then came back to notch 34 digs in a close 3-2 setback against top-seeded Lewis (Ill.) in the regional semifinals at Neil Carey Arena. Reminga helped the Bulldogs win their fourth consecutive GLIAC Regular Season and Tournament Championships this season along with making the program's seventh-straight NCAA appearance in her final season in a Bulldog uniform at Ferris State.

Ferris State University senior center Rachel McInerney totaled 25 points, 29 rebounds, seven assists, two steals and a block in a pair of regional games this past week for the Bulldogs. The standout senior scored 10 points with 12 rebounds and three assists while playing only 20 minutes in a decisive 88-69 win over Wisconsin-Parkside on Wednesday before coming back to notch 15 points with 17 rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block in a close 81-77 setback to Lewis on Sunday, which was FSU's first setback of the year (5-1). For the week, she tallied 12.5 points, 14.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game for the Bulldogs while also sinking five-of-seven (71.4%) free throws. McInerney also totaled her 1,000th career point in the win over UWP.

Ferris State University senior center Rachel McInerney led the Bulldogs to back-to-back wins to open the regular-season as FSU went 2-0 at the Midwest Regional Challenge in Pepper Pike, Ohio. McInerney tallied 21.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game for the Bulldogs. She totaled 20 points and 10 rebounds in a double-double showing in the season opener on Friday in a 81-75 triumph over returning NCAA Tourney qualifier and host Ursuline, where she also added two blocks and two steals. She then came back on Saturday to notch a team-high 23 points, seven rebounds, three steals, two assists and a block in a decisive 107-70 win over Davis & Elkins (W.Va.). McInerney totaled 43 points, 17 rebounds, five steals, three blocks and two assists on the weekend while shooting 54.8% from the floor and 70% at the line.

Ferris State University sophomore hitter Allyson Cappel had a huge weekend for the Bulldogs in leading FSU to a pair of GLIAC home sweeps. Cappel averaged 5.67 kills per set along with 2.50 digs while hitting .492 in wins over Saginaw Valley State and Lake Superior State by identical 3-0 scores. She notched 16 kills with a .519 hitting figure, four digs and an ace in Friday's win over SVSU before coming back with 18 kills, 11 digs and two blocks to go with a .472 showing on Saturday versus LSSU. For the weekend, she compiled 34 kills, 15 digs, two blocks and an ace as FSU improved to 19-6 overall and 12-2 in the GLIAC.

Alison Chesterfield - Women's Soccer

Ferris State University sophomore goalkeeper Alison Chesterfield shutout league regular-season champion and nationally-ranked Grand Valley State in the Bulldogs' final contest of the regular-season at home on Friday (Oct. 27) as FSU scored a 1-0 decision over the Lakers for their first win in the West Michigan rivalry in 15 years. FSU beat GVSU for only the fourth time ever and first time since 2002 as Chesterfield made nine saves in 90 minutes of work for the shutout. The Bulldogs managed to earn the victory despite being outshot 26-13 for the match. Chesterfield notched her second consecutive shutout while improving to 2-0 on the year.

Kathryn Etelamaki - Women's Cross Country

Ferris State University sophomore runner Kathryn Etelamaki earned All-GLIAC First Team accolades this past weekend at the 2017 GLIAC Championships held in Marquette while leading FSU to a fifth-place team finish. Etelamaki took 10th place in a time of 22:18.6 on the 6K course to garner first-team laurels at the GLIAC Championships as FSU's highest finisher in the competition. Overall, the Bulldog women had a total of seven runners place among the top 50 overall in the annual league event.

Carley Dubbert - Women's Soccer

Ferris State University's Carley Dubbert had a big weekend for the Bulldogs as she tallied a team-leading eight points on three goals and two assists in key league back-to-back home wins over Davenport and Purdue Northwest in decisive fashion. Dubbert also produced both game-winners and registered 11 shots overall with six on goal for the weekend. She had two goals and an assist for five points in Friday's 4-1 triumph over Davenport, which entered the game just ahead of FSU in the upper half of the GLIAC standings. She tehn came back with both a goal and an assist on Sunday in a 4-0 shutout win over the Pride.

Silvia Verebes - Women's Tennis

Ferris State University's Silvia Verebes had a strong week for the Bulldogs as FSU squared off against rival Grand Valley State along with Michigan Tech and Lake Superior State at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center in Big Rapids. Verebes went a combined 5-1 in singles and doubles action for the week. On Wednesday, she helped account for both of FSU's points in a 7-2 setback as she posted a 2-0 mark against GVSU by winning a tighly-contested three-setter at two singles and pairing up with Nika Hein for an 8-4 doubles win at the number one flight. Her lone setback came at two singles versus Michigan Tech on Saturday, but she was an 8-5 winner at the top doubles flight in the match. Finally, she closed the weekend by notching a pair of wins against LSSU on Sunday with a decisive 6-2, 6-1 triumph at two singles along with pulling out a close 9-8 (3) victory at one doubles.

Courtney Brewer - Volleyball

Ferris State University outside hitter Courtney Brewer had a big weekend for the Bulldogs as FSU improved to 13-2 overall and stayed unbeaten in the GLIAC with a perfect 7-0 mark. Brewer netted 22 kills with 18 digs and four blocks as FSU swept Lake Superior State and Saginaw Valley State on the road. She averaged 3.67 kills, 3.00 digs and 0.67 blocks per set while hitting .293 overall. Brewer's efforts helped offset the loss of FSU's Allyson Cappel who did not see significant action this weekend. She had 12 kills, 17 digs and three blocks in Friday's win over LSSU before coming back with 10 kills and a .318 hitting figure in Saturday's triumph at SVSU.

Hilerie Schatzle - Women's Soccer

Ferris State senior forward Hilerie Schatzle had a big week as the Bulldogs posted three consecutive wins, including a 2-0 start to take over first place with six points in the GLIAC. She totaled a team-high five points on a goal and three assists in FSU's wins over Madonna, Northwood and Saginaw Valley State. Schatzle also had nine total shots and averaged 1.67 points per game. She notched an assist on an early second half goal to give FSU a 2-0 lead in Wednesday's 3-2 road win at Madonna and then had an assist on FSU's middle goal in a 5-0 league-opening home shutout over Northwood Friday. Finally, she concluded the weekend with a big day Sunday by notching her first goal of the season and the first of the game against Saginaw Valley State. Schatzle helped account for both of FSU's goals in the win over the Cardinals as she also had the assist via a corner kick on Bri Rogers' eventual game-winning goal in the 2-1 triumph.

Ferris State University sophomore outside hitter Allyson Cappel had a big weekend as the eighth-ranked Bulldogs won their first two conference outings on the road. Cappel tallied 42 kills with 19 digs, three aces and two blocks in FSU's back-to-back 3-1 road decisions over Purdue Northwest and Davenport. She totaled 21 kills in each match while adding seven digs versus Purdue NW and 12 against the Panthers. Overall, she averaged 5.25 kills and 2.38 digs per set while hitting .333 overall for the weekend.

Ferris State University junior defender Carley Dubbert tallied two goals in lifting the Bulldogs to a 2-1 home win over Cedarville on Sunday (Sept. 10) at the South Athletic Fields on the FSU campus. Dubbert scored the game winner in the 75th minute as the Bulldogs rallied from a one-goal deficit to win the tight contest. In FSU's two games over the weekend versus 10th-ranked Minnesota State (1-0 loss) and Cedarville, she finished with a squad-high eight total shots and put four on net while totaling four points.

Ferris State University sophomore outside hitter Allyson Cappel started off the year in a big way as she led the 14th-ranked Bulldogs to four consecutive wins in FSU's annual home invitational. Cappel compiled 44 kills with 40 digs, five aces and five blocks on the weekend. She tallied 3.38 kills and 3.08 digs per set in leading a balanced FSU attack and claimed all-tournament team accolades. Cappel's weekend included 15 kills and 10 digs in the a 3-0 season-opening win over Missouri Western State along with 13 kills and 10 digs in FSU's final 3-1 triumph over Quincy. For the weekend, the Bulldogs dropped only a single set.

Destiny Lawson - Women's Golf

Ferris State University golfer Destiny Lawson finished tied for 14th place overall last week at the 2017 NCAA Division II East Super Regional Championships in Canton, Ohio. Lawson, who was an individual qualifier for the regional championships, shot a five-over par 77 in the final round of the 54-hole regional tournament at the Glenmoor Country Club. She had shot a 74 in round one and a 79 in round two while finishing with a 230 total for the three days of action. The Bulldog sophomore was one of six individuals from across the region taking part in the regional championships along with 12 teams.

Racheal McDonald - Track & Field

Ferris State University junior Racheal McDonald (Alpena) surpassed the NCAA Division II National Provisional Qualification time and won the women's 10,000 meters at the 2017 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Allendale. She clocked 35:48.92 overall in winning the event, becoming the first Bulldog in recent history to claim the 10,000-meter event at the conference championships.

Racheal McDonald - Track & Field

Ferris State University junior Racheal McDonald (Alpena) surpassed the NCAA Division II National Provisional Qualification time in placing fifth in the women's 5,000 meter open run at the prestigious 51st annual Hillsdale "Gina" Relays with a time of 17:13.46 overall this past weekend in Hillsdale. She was one of three FSU runners to place in the top nine overall in the race as the Bulldogs competed in two different weekend competitions. Her time in the race represented a personal career-best and was the top performance by a FSU student-athlete in the 5,000 meters this outdoor campaign. It marked the second time in which she's competed in the event during the outdoor season and she's now placed in the top five both times. Presently, she's qualified for nationals in both the 5,000 and 10,000 meters this year.

Logan Fleming - Softball

Ferris State University second baseman Logan Fleming led the Bulldogs to four-straight wins this past weekend at home as FSU moved past both Findlay and Northwood for one of the final potential spots in the GLIAC Tournament. Fleming hit a squad-best .500 for the weekend and totaled five hits and three RBI's with two runs scored in 10 at-bats. She also drew a walk and stole a base while compiling a .800 slugging percentage in the perfect 4-0 stretch. She tallied a triple and a double in the four-game set as FSU took over sole possession of seventh place in the league standings. Her weekend effort included a .667 hitting figure and two RBI's with two hits in a 9-3 decision over Lake Erie on Sunday in the nightcap during FSU's final home game of the year. Overall, she accounted for eight total bases and had two extra base hits along with a sacrifice hit and a sacrifice fly. In the field, she was perfect with a 1.000 field percentage with 11 putouts and 12 assists.

Lexi Hongisto - Softball

Ferris State University third baseman Lexi Hongisto had a big weekend for the Bulldogs in a pair of league doubleheaders. Hongisto hit .429 in 14 plate appearances while totaling six hits, six runs scored, eight RBI's and two home runs. She also drew a walk, was hit by a pitch and doubled once for FSU in the four contests. Her best game came to end the weekend in a high-scoring 18-13 road loss at Northwood on Saturday when she belted two homers and drove in six runs with three hits and three runs scored. Additionally, she had two hits and scored twice with an RBI in FSU's impressive 15-3 league home win over nationally 23rd-ranked Saginaw Valley State in Friday's second game. Hongisto finished the week with a .929 slugging percentage and accounted for 13 total bases with three extra base hits.

Sarah Johnson - Softball

Ferris State University senior shortstop Sarah Johnson led the Bulldogs to wins in three of four games as the Bulldogs played their first home action of the year over the weekend at the FSU Softball Field. Johnson hit .571 for the weekend with eight hits and scored four runs in a sweep over Tiffin on Saturday along with a split against Findlay on Sunday. She had three multiple-hit games, including three in a 4-3 game two win over the Dragons in Saturday's action. The veteran also tallied two hits in both games while driving in a run from the leadoff position in a league split against UF on Sunday. For the weekend, she accounted for eight total bases and also had 10 assists in the field with a .875 fielding percentage.

Sam Bates - Softball

Ferris State University pitcher Sam Bates won two games in the circle for the Bulldogs this weekend as FSU posted back-to-back league road splits at Ashland and Ohio Dominican. Bates was the pitcher of record in both of FSU's victories as she went 2-0 in the circle. She gave up only six runs on 23 hits in 12 innings of action with four strikeouts and one walk. Bates posted a 3.50 earned run average in her three appearances. The standout hurled four and one-third innings of FSU's weekend-opening 9-5 triumph over Ashland on Friday before tossing all seven innings in Saturday's 4-2 game one win at ODU. Finally, she pitched two-thirds of an inning and did not give up a run or hit in the Bulldogs' 10-3 setback to the Panthers in game two. Along with her pitching performance, Bates also batted .538 on the weekend with seven hits and seven RBI's along with four doubles at the plate.

Arien Kissinger - Women's Tennis

Ferris State University's Arien Kissinger led the Bulldog women's tennis squad last week at the inaugural GLIAC/GLVC Crossover event held in Plainfield, Ill. Kissinger posted a pair of victories in FSU's three matches overall. She paired up with Sydney Berens to record a doubles victory at the third flight on Friday (March 17) versus Rockhurst (Mo.) in the opening tilt of the weekend. She also notched one of the Bulldogs' two singles wins on Saturday (March 18) against Maryville (Mo.) with a three-set triumph at the fourth flight in the lineup. Kissinger has helped the Bulldogs to a 9-9 overall record to date this year heading into FSU's next match at Davenport on March 30.

Lexi Hongisto - Softball

Ferris State University sophomore Lexi Hongisto has had a great start to the 2017 season as she currently leads the Bulldogs with a .339 batting average to go with a squad-best 19 hits, 15 RBI's and nine doubles in 18 games this year. Hongisto has also belted two homers and scored 11 runs with a team-leading .643 slugging percentage and 56 at-bats. She helped FSU win seven of 12 games in Florida at The Spring Games last week.

Molly Emerick - Women's Track & Field

Ferris State University track and field standout Molly Emerick earned runner-up honors in the 800 meters at the 2017 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Indoor Championships held in Findlay, Ohio, last weekend. Her time of 2:12.44 in the race was a national-qualifying performance. Earlier this week, Emerick earned a berth into the NCAA Division II National Indoor Track & Field Championships and will be one of two FSU representatives at the national indoor meet.

Molly Emerick - Women's Track & Field

Ferris State University track and field standout Molly Emerick won the 800 meters and reached a NCAA Division II National Provisional qualification time with a clocking of 2:13.39 overall last week at the Grand Valley State Tune-Up Meet held at the Kelly Family Sports Center in Allendale. Emerick and the Bulldogs will compete this week in the GLIAC Indoor Championships in Findlay, Ohio.

Sarah Utchel - Women's Track & Field

Ferris State University track and field runner Sarah Utchel led the Bulldogs with a pair of personal-best performances at last week's Grand Valley State "Big Meet" in Allendale. Utchel placed eighth in the 60 meters (7.95) with a personal-best time while coming in 13th overall with another personal-best in the 200 meters (25.92). The two-day event annually attracts some of the top collegiate standouts in the country from a wide range of programs. Her performances helped the Bulldogs compile a total of 22 top-20 finishes at the meet.

Rachel McInerney - Women's Basketball

Ferris State University junior center Rachel McInerney had another strong week for the Bulldogs as she averaged 13 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. McInerney totaled 39 points, 31 rebounds, nine assists and five blocks in outings against Grand Valley State, Saginaw Valley State and Wayne State. She notched 21 points with 17 rebounds, threee blocks and two assists in Saturday's 71-67 road triumph at Wayne State after totaling nine points, seven rebounds, five assists and two blocks in Thursday's close 71-64 home setback to divisional leader SVSU. She also had nine points and seven boards with two assists in a setback on Monday at GVSU. The junior standout shot 48.4% from the floor and went nine-of-13 (69.2%) at the line for the Bulldogs.

Molly Emerick - Women's Track & Field

Ferris State University track and field standout Molly Emerick reached a NCAA Division II National Provisional qualification time in the 800 meters while placing third overall last week at the Saginaw Valley State Jet's Pizza Invitational held on Friday and Saturday (Jan. 27-28) in University Center, Mich. Emerick clocked 2:13.84 in the race and her performance was among 19 top-eight finishes for the Bulldog men's and women's squads at the two-day event. She also ran a league on FSU's women's distance medley relay team that came in second with a clocking of 12:44.99 at the competition.

Rachel McInerney - Women's Basketball

Ferris State University junior Rachel McInerney had a big week with a pair of double-doubles for the Bulldogs as FSU earned a split in GLIAC North Division action. McInerney scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds with three steals and three blocks in her return to her hometown on Thursday (Jan. 19) as FSU battled divisional leader Saginaw Valley State to overtime before falling by a 70-68 count. She came back on Saturday to help FSU snap a four-game losing skid by totaling a team-high 22 points with 14 rebounds, four blocks and a steal in a 83-80 victory over Wayne State Jim Wink Arena. In the two games, McInerney shot 46.7% from the floor and went 12-of-15 (80%) from the line, including sinking a big free throw in the closing seconds in the win over WSU. She totaled 40 points, 24 rebounds, seven blocks and four steals for the week while averaging 20 points, 12 rebounds, 3.5 blocks and 2.0 steals an outing.

Rachel McInerney - Women's Basketball

Ferris State University junior forward Rachel McInerney tallied 23 points and 7.5 rebounds per game as the Bulldogs opened GLIAC North Division action against Lake Superior State and Northwood this past week. McInerney shot 68% from the floor in the two setbacks while sinking 12-of-13 (92.3%) free throws for FSU, which played both teams even after the opening quarter. She totaled a game-best 29 points with 10 rebounds in Thursday's game at Lake Superior State before coming back to produce a team-best 17 points with five boards in Saturday's home action against Northwood. She finished the week with 46 points, 15 rebounds, two blocks and an assist while hitting 17-of-25 (68%) shots from the floor.

Riley Blair - Women's Basketball

Ferris State redshirt freshman guard Riley Blair had a strong week for the Bulldogs as FSU split two road contests. Blair averaged 18.5 points along with 5.0 reobunds and shot 43% from the floor along with 50% beyond the three-point stripe in FSU's first two games of the New Year. She totaled 12 points with three rebounds and two assists in Monday's 66-49 non-league victory at Salem International before coming back to notch a team-best 25 points along with seven rebounds and a steal in Thursday's 79-63 GLIAc setback at Lake Erie. Blair hit four three's in the two games combined and also went a perfect 7-of-7 from the free throw stripe.

Riley Blair - Women's Basketball

Ferris State University redshirt freshman guard Riley Blair poured in a career-high 24 points to lead FSU in a 82-57 home setback to regional foe Lewis (Ill.) on Sunday afternoon inside FSU's Jim Wink Arena. In the Bulldogs' only game of the week, Blair kept the Bulldogs close early with her shooting as the two teams were deadlocked at halftime before the Flyers went on an early second-half run to improve to 6-1 on the year. Blair shot 53% from the floor and hit two three-pointers along with four-of-five free throws in the contest. She added four assists, three rebounds and a steal in 36 minutes of work.

Stephanie Sikorski - Volleyball

Ferris State University senior setter Stephanie Sikorski led the Bulldogs to a third consecutive GLIAC Championship and the number one seed for the conference tournament with two wins to close out the regular-season last weekend at home. Sikorski, who notched her 1,000th career dig recently, helped the Bulldogs top Hillsdale and Northwood before beating rival Grand Valley State in the opening round of the conference tournament. She has started all 31 matches this year as the squad's setter while helping FSU win its last 22 outings in a row heading into this weekend's confernence semifinals. Sikorski ranks as one of the country's top setters and is a four-year starter in the Bulldog lineup. This year's GLIAC Tournament appearance is the 19th-straight for the Bulldogs, who are also currently listed as the number one team in the Midwest Region.

Ayanna Buckley - Volleyball

Ferris State University junior hitter Ayanna Buckley had a big week for the Bulldogs as FSU secured a third-straight outright GLIAC North Division Championship with three wins. Buckely totaled 30 kills and an impressive hitting figure as FSU swept Grand Valley State, Lake Superior State and Saginaw Valley State in conference action. She produced 13 kills in the league-title clinching win over Lake Superior State on Friday (Nov. 4) after posting six kills in a sweep of rival Grand Valley State on Tuesday (Nov. 1). Finally, she posted 11 kills with no errors on 24 attempts for a .458 hitting figure in a road sweep over second-place Saginaw Valley State (Nov. 5). Buckley hit .214 or better in all three matches, including a .500 figure in the win versus LSSU. She also had eight total blocks on the week.

Allyson Cappel - Volleyball

Ferris State University freshman hitter Allyson Cappel tallied a team-leading 25 kills with 17 digs, five blocks and two aces as the Bulldogs ran their winning streak to 16 consecutive matches with a pair of home wins over Michigan Tech and Northern Michigan last weekend inside FSU's Ewigleben Sports Arena. Cappel tallied 16 kills with 10 digs, three blocks and an ace in Friday's 3-1 triumph over the Huskies and then came back to post nine kills, seven digs, two blocks and an ace in Saturday's 3-0 sweep of NMU. Cappel averaged 3.57 kills and 2.43 digs per frame on the weekend while totaling 4.4 points per set. The two wins pushed FSU past the 20-win mark in a season for the sixth consecutive year and came prior to a Tuesday night home victory over archrival Grand Valley State in Big Rapids.

Grace Kraft - Women's Soccer

Ferris State University freshman goalkeeper Grace Kraft set a school single-season record this past weekend by recording her eighth and ninth shutouts of the year as the Bulldogs did not allow a goal in two important league outings. Kraft tallied 10 saves in 90 minutes of action as FSU avenged an earlier non-league defeat this year by topping Saginaw Valley State 1-0 on Friday (Oct. 21) in GLIAC play at Top Taggart Field. She then came back to hold Northwood scoreless for 110 minutes in a double-overtime deadlock on Sunday (Oct. 23) in Midland. Kraft played 200 total minutes and made 15 saves on the weekend for FSU, which clinched a GLIAC Tournament berth and moved into a share for fourth place to potentially host a conference quarterfinal-round postseason game. Behind Kraft's play, the Bulldogs have allowed only a single goal in their last eight contests to date and FSU has given up only two goals in the last nine outings.

Meredith Smith - Women's Soccer

Ferris State University senior Meredith Smith had a big weekend as the Bulldogs posted back-to-back home shutout wins over Findlay and Ohio Dominican in league play at FSU's Top Taggart Field. Smith, who was honored Sunday during Senior Day activities, had a big day to conclude the weekend as she tallied a goal and two assists while playing a key role in all three FSU markers against ODU. She had the top assist on FSU's eventual game-winning first half goal and then added an assist on the Bulldogs' second goal by Carley Dubbert with a great pass in the second half. Finally, she concluded the day with a deep shot for her first goal of the year to seal the win in the 64th minute. Smith had three shots, including two on goal, in the win over ODU and also had two shots, both on net, in FSU's weekend-opening triumph over Findlay on Friday.

Destiny Lawson - Women's Golf

Ferris State University golfer Destiny Lawson placed tied for seventh individually while leading the Bulldogs to a share of seventh place at the Findlay "Bing Beall" Invitational held this past week in Findlay, Ohio. Lawson carded a 154 score for the two rounds of competition while finishing as FSU's top performer in the event. She shot identical rounds of 77 each day for Ferris State as the Bulldogs moved up two places on the final day of action on Monday.

Grace Kraft - Women's Soccer

Ferris State University's Grace Kraft Kraft was perfect this past week as she did not allow a goal in 200 minutes of action for the Bulldogs. The FSU rookie recorded 15 total saves in posting the two shutouts as FSU battled to a scoreless double-overtime tie against unbeaten Ashland on Friday (Sept. 30) before topping Tiffin 1-0 on Sunday (Oct. 2) at Top Taggart Field. The Williamston native notched eight saves in Friday's outing against the Eagles in 110 minutes before coming up with seven saves in Sunday's victory. She had a 1.000 save percentage and a 0.00 goals against average for the week. Kraft earned GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week laurels for her efforts.

Allyson Cappel - Volleyball

Ferris State University's Allyson Cappel tallied 51 kills and averaged an impressive 5.10 kills per set as the Bulldogs won all three of their outings this past weekend. She produced 5.9 points per set while adding 25 digs, four blocks and four aces in the weekend sweep. 
The Bulldog rookie had a career-best 22 kills with 17 digs in FSU's 3-1 non-league win at Davenport on Saturday (Sept. 24) evening after producing 15 kills earlier in the day in a 3-0 triumph over Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) in Grand Rapids. In addition, she began the weekend with 14 kills in FSU's 3-0 GLIAC win over Walsh on Friday at home. Overall, she hit .467 for the weekend with only nine errors on 90 total attempts.

Morgan Zloto - Women's Golf

Ferris State University's Morgan Zloto shared first-place honors last weekend in leading the Bulldog women's golf team to the championship at its own Ferris State Invitational held at FSU's Katke Golf Course. Zloto finished +13 for the two days of action in the 36-hole event with a 79 in round one followed by a 78 in the second round. Her performance helped Ferris State finish one stroke head of runner-up Lewis in the lone home competition of the 2016-17 campaign. She finished in a three-way tie for first on the individual leaderboard.

Amiena Houston - Women's Tennis

Newcomer Amiena Houston went unbeaten over the weekend as the Ferris State University women's tennis squad split two league home matches at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center in Big Rapids. Houston went 4-0 with two wins in singles play at the number three flight along with two doubles triumphs at the second spot in the lineup. In the season opener on Friday (Sept. 9), she won a thrilling three-setter in a close 5-4 marathon setback to Michigan Tech while teaming up with Nicole Meylor for an 8-4 doubles win. She came back to win another three-set match in singles play on Saturday (Sept. 10) in FSU's 9-0 sweep of Lake Superior State while teaming with Meylor again for a decisive 8-2 doubles decision. The four matches for the junior from Orlando represented her first outings with the Bulldogs.
