Ferris State To Honor Football, Volleyball, Soccer Teams Thursday Evening At Wink Arena

Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University Athletics will recognize three fall squads for their historic seasons on Thursday (Feb. 7) evening during the Bulldog men's and women's basketball squad's nationally-televised home doubleheader against Ashland inside Jim Wink Arena.

The Bulldogs' Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) hoops doubleheader against the Eagles will be televised via ESPN3 and the ESPN app across the country as part of the Division II National TV Showcase from Wink Arena. It will represent the first live national TV broadcast in the building's history.

Thursday's action begins a four-game homestand for the Bulldogs with the women's game getting underway at 5:35 p.m. (ET) followed by the men's contest at approximately 7:35 p.m. (ET). Fans are encouraged to come early, Pack Wink and "Wear White" for the national TV broadcast.

During the evening action, Ferris State Athletics will recognize and honor the football, volleyball and women's soccer squads, which each had historic seasons this past fall and were ranked among the nation's top squads. The football team reached the D2 National Championship game for the first time in school history with the Bulldog volleyball program winning both its fifth-straight GLIAC Regular-Season and Tournament titles. Meanwhile, FSU soccer advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history and finished in the D2 Sweet Sixteen while setting numerous records along the way.

The Bulldog football squad will be honored at halftime of the women's game with both the volleyball and soccer teams slated to be recognized at halftime of the men's contest.

Along with reaching the national title game, the Bulldog football team captured the GLIAC Championship in 2018 and won the Super Region Three title by winning their first four NCAA Playoff games en route to a historic run. The four playoff wins included FSU's first-ever National Semifinal victory at Minnesota State. The Bulldogs made their fifth-straight trip to the D2 Playoffs and matched an all-time NCAA record with 15 wins under head coach Tony Annese.

This past fall, Ferris State Volleyball made its eighth consecutive NCAA Tournament bid and has now advanced to at least the regional semifinals each of the last eight years under head coach Tia Brandel-Wilhelm. The Bulldogs finished the regular-season as GLIAC Champions for the fifth-straight year with a perfect 16-0 league mark and also captured the 2018 GLIAC Tournament Championship for the fifth consecutive year, becoming the first squad in league history to capture five-straight tourney crowns.

Finally, Bulldog soccer had a record-breaking season this past fall with a school all-time best 17-4-3 overall record under head coach Andy McCaslin. FSU reached the national tournament for the first time in school history and won their opening two games at home. In addition, FSU was nationally ranked for most of the season, which is the first time in the program's 20-year history FSU has ranked among the nation's top 25 teams. The Bulldogs finished second in the GLIAC Regular Season standings, the highest finish in program history before also making their first-ever appearance in the GLIAC Tournament Championship game.

Prices are $10 for adult general admission along with $7 for FSU Faculty/Staff and Seniors (ages 65 and up) in addition to $5 for students (age 3-17 years). All FSU students earn free admission with a valid student ID card.

The FSU Athletic Ticket Office's normal business hours are Monday thru Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (ET) with extended hours on Wednesday until 7 p.m. (ET).
