Total Of 84 Ferris State Student-Athletes Earn Fall GLIAC Academic Recognition

Big Rapids, Mich. - A total of 84 Ferris State University student-athletes have achieved Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) All-Academic & All-Academic Excellence Team honors for the 2021 fall athletics campaign as announced by the league office.

The 84 Bulldog student-athletes represent five varsity programs, including football, volleyball, women's soccer along with men's and women's cross country.

Overall, a total of 925 student-athletes achieved all-academic recognition from across the conference member institutions this past fall season.

Ferris State had 36 student-athletes tabbed to the GLIAC All-Academic Team and another 48 who received GLIAC All-Academic Excellence Team recognition.

Criteria states the student-athlete must be an active member on the roster at the end of the season, not a freshman or a first year transfer student. All-Academic Teams are comprised of those student-athletes that meet criteria and carry a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0-3.49. Academic Excellence Teams are comprised of student athletes that have a cumulative GPA of 3.50-4.0. Grades are based on marks from the fall semester.

Overall, the NCAA Division II National Champion Bulldog Football team had 35 individuals recognized while GLIAC Tournament Champion Ferris State Women's Soccer was featured with 23 total honorees. The Bulldog Volleyball squad, which also captured the GLIAC Tournament title along with the GLIAC South Division crown, had eight recipients with both the men's and women's cross country programs garnering nine individual honorees apiece.
