Ferris State University alum Brody Keiser, who graduated from FSU this past May, has been selected to serve as the Bulldogs' new Athletics Communications Associate.

Keiser, who served on FSU's athletics communications staff as an undergraduate student over the past two years, will play a key role in the department's social media, broadcast and multimedia efforts in addition to serving on the communications staff. Additionally, he'll also be the new radio and television voice for Ferris State Hockey, replacing seven-year veteran Harrison Watt, who moved out of state for a new career opportunity.

The announcement was made by Ferris State Associate Athletics Director Rob Bentley.

"I'm excited about working with Brody on an every day basis and believe he'll be a tremendous addition to our staff in this role," said Bentley. "He developed considerable experience over the past few years on our campus and is a true Bulldog who wants to do all he can to help move Ferris Forward. Overall, he brings a strong work ethic, great personality, outstanding skills and a desire to make a big impact."

This past season, Keiser served as a color commentator for Bulldog Hockey on Sunny 97.3 FM and FloHockey, working along side Watt to call the action. He also helped coordinate postgame press conferences and interviews for multiple sports as part of the Bulldog Sports Network and served as the department's primary media and social media liaison during the women's soccer team's run to the NCAA Division II Final Four in Seattle. Keiser also has helped coordinate sideline interviews in addition to coverage for various national championship football celebrations this past spring.

Along with his on-air and reporting duties, Keiser served in other communications roles as an intern this past year. He assisted with statistical coverage for various sports, including hockey, and provided social media coverage for many of FSU's 17 varsity programs throughout the year in addition to working with local media members in a staff role.

In addition to his broadcast role, as part of the communications staff, Keiser will also help oversee the communications' student employees and be highly involved in FSU's video, multimedia, social media and graphic design operation. Along with Ferris State's NCAA Division I hockey program, Keiser will also work with the Bulldogs' 16 other NCAA Division II varsity teams under Bentley's direction.

"Harrison played a key role in many of our initiatives and developed a great on-air following and presence over the past seven years calling Bulldog Hockey so we're sad to see him go, but I believe Brody has the skill set and passion to grow into this role quickly and continue to help us elevate our brand," said Bentley.

A West Michigan native, Keiser earned a bachelor of science degree in sports communication at FSU in May along with minors in multimedia journalism and sports science. During his time at Ferris State, Keiser was highly active in the sports communications program and served as the Vice President of the Sports Careers Club at FSU along with being a Lambda Phi Eta member.

Before joining the FSU Athletics Communications staff, Keiser worked as a sports reporter and sports editor for the Ferris State Torch student newspaper, where he often interviewed various FSU student-athletes and alums during his three-year tenure. As part of the sports communication program, he also developed strong event management experience, which included coordinating and organizing poly hockey games along with the Bulldogs' annual Red Out event in support or healthy heart month and the Special Olympics basketball game that both raised significant funds for Big Rapids Corewell Health's cardiac unit and the local Area 5 Special Olympics program, respectively.

Keiser began his duties at FSU this past week.
