Big Rapids, Mich. - The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference (GLIAC) has selected 48 student-athletes from Ferris
State University on its all-academic and all-academic excellence
teams for the recently-completed 2010 fall sports season.
Overall, a total of 819 student-athletes from the conference's 14-member institutions were honored in the following sports -- football, volleyball, women's tennis, women's cross country, men's cross country, men's soccer and women's soccer.
To be eligible for GLIAC All-Academic recognition, a
student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of
3.0-3.49, on a 4.0 scale, and must not be a freshman or first-year
transfer.
The first-ever GLIAC All-Academic Excellence teams consist of
those individuals recording a 3.5 grade point average or
higher.
Twenty-five of FSU's 48 honorees earned GLIAC All-Academic Excellence laurels with 23 more obtaining GLIAC All-Academic recognition. Overall, the conference placed 467 individuals on the all-academic teams with 352 obtaining all-academic excellence kudos.
