Bulldog Athletics Unveils #FerrisStrong Social Countdown & New Hashtag

Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University Athletics will
continue an award-winning initiative while unveiling a new hashtag
and theme for the 2013-14 campaign as the Bulldogs officially
launch the #FerrisStrong Social Countdown on
Monday (Aug. 5).
The interactive month-long social media blitz, which comes on the
heels of last year's highly-successful Bulldog Social Summer, will
help fans tick down the days to the official start of another
athletics season the first week of September.
As part of the effort, FSU will kickoff another campaign with a
new theme as the #FerrisStrong wording will be carried over to a
variety of projects and promotional items throughout the year along
with being a primary hashtag and wordmark on Twitter and various
other social media platforms. The theme will reflect the
unity, pride and passion among Ferris State's 17 varsity athletics
programs and the Bulldog Nation.
Fans are encouraged to use the #FerrisStrong tag on all tweets
related to Bulldog Athletics.
"We're excited about this social media campaign following on the
heels of a highly-successful effort last summer," said Associate
Athletics Director Jon Coles. "In addition,
we're looking forward to branding the #FerrisStrong tag as we begin
what we hope is a strong and successful athletics season."
While fans are eagerly waiting for the Bulldogs to return to
action, the #FerrisStrong Social Countdown will allow them to talk
Bulldog Athletics online with other fans, win prizes and have fun
while keeping up with the Bulldogs socially.
Aptly named the #FerrisStrong Social Countdown, the plan will
feature different interactive components for each day
(Monday-Sunday) via Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and FerrisStateBulldogs.com, as well as other special
features as the days count down to the fall season.
The previously-used Bulldog Social Summer campaign that was ran
last summer recently was tabbed among the nation's best social
media marketing efforts as part of the National Association of
Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) 2012-13 "Best of Award
Winners".
During last summer's initiative, FSU also unveiled the all-new FerrisStateBulldogs.com, which added a number of unique
and interactive social media elements, making the site among the
best of its kind in intercollegiate athletics.
Along with the website, the Bulldogs have also made an effort to
significantly increase followers over the past two years on various
other platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and Intstagram while
establishing an email database that continues to grow. FSU's
current athletics "likes" on facebook are more than four other NCAA
Division I schools in the state of Michigan along with more than 13
fellow Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC)
counterparts.
Since its launch in August of 2009, FerrisStateBulldogs.com has served nearly four million
visitors from all 50 states and nearly every country around the
world. Those visitors have combined for more than 200 million
hits.

Meet The Bulldogs Monday - Catch an interview
with some of the new faces in Bulldog Athletics, alumni,
student-athletes or others as FSU preps for another exciting
year.
Trivia Tuesday - @ferrisathletics Twitter
followers and official Facebook friends will be asked to correctly
answer a Bulldog Trivia Question. Everyone with a correct answer
will be entered into a prize drawing. Better study up on your
Bulldog History!
Where Are You Wednesday - Upload photos of
yourself or family members to the Ferris Athletics Facebook page,
tweet them online or post on instagram. Whether you're from
other parts of the country, in your office at work or resting on
the couch, share your Bulldog pride with others for a chance to
win!
Throwback Thursday - We're scouring the archives
for fun photos, old game programs and maybe even an article from
the past. See them on Twitter, Facebook & Instagram. You'll be
surprised at how awesome some of our uniforms and athletes looked
back in the day!
Football Friday - Catch up on the latest
happenings with Bulldog Football as FSU players, coaches and staff
prepare for the 2013 season. Read or watch an interview, hear a
