Sixty-Eight Ferris State Student-Athletes Honored By GLIAC

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has honored 68 Ferris State University student-athletes on its all-academic and all-academic excellence teams for the recently-completed 2012 fall sports season.

To be eligible for GLIAC All-Academic recognition, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0-3.49, on a 4.0 scale, and must not be a freshman or first-year transfer.

The GLIAC All-Academic Excellence teams consist of those individuals recording a 3.5 grade point average or higher.

Overall, 41 of FSU's 68 honorees earned GLIAC All-Academic laurels while 27 claimed GLIAC All-Academic Excellence recognition. 

The Bulldog football team had 26 student-athletes named to one of the two lists while women's soccer had 12, volleyball featured nine, both men's and women's cross country netted seven each, men's golf had four and women's tennis included three as all seven designated fall sports teams were represented.
