Played prep football at East Lansing (Ohio) High School . . . Transfer from Grand Rapids Community College . . . Played under head coach Tony Annese at GRCC . . . Was an all-conference, all-area and all-state honoree as a prepster . . . Totaled 30 or more catches in three-straight seasons of high school football . . . Totaled more than 1,500 receiving yards in the high school ranks . . . Also had 90 tackles as a junior with six interceptions before totaling 79 stops and three picks his senior season . . . Competed in both basketball and track as well . . . Coached by Bill Ferocco on prep level . . . His brother Richard played for Michigan State and the New Orleans Saints . . .
