A huge second half lifted the Ferris State University football team to its first NCAA Playoff victory in 19 years as the Bulldogs beat Texas A&M Commerce 48-30 in the opening round of the postseason on Saturday (Nov. 21) at FSU's Top Taggart Field.
Behind the offensive play of Jason Vander Laan and Jahaan Brown, FSU tallied 404 yards of total offense, including 296 yards rushing. Vander Laan added 97 yards on the ground on 29 attempts to go with Brown's 192 yards rushing. In the air, Vander Laan completed 12-of-19 throws for 105 yards.
