IMPORTANT GAMEDAY PARKING INFO: Special Details For Football Opener Due To Thursday Evening Challenges

Greetings from Bulldog Athletics,

In collaboration with Student Affairs and the entire Bulldog Beginnings Committee, we are proud to host our 2016 "Home Opener" football game on Founders Day - Thursday, September 1, at 7:30pm. 

This is a great opportunity to bring different facets of the University together to celebrate the beginning of the 2016-17 academic year.  We look forward to hosting Ferris State students, faculty/staff, emeriti, Bulldog football fans, alumni and our opponent the Ohio Dominican Panthers.

One of our biggest challenges in hosting a football game on a Thursday night will be parking.  Here are some important details for parking on campus on Thursday, September 1;

  1. Access to the tailgate parking lots for the game can begin at 5 pm.  All fans are asked to wait until after 5 pm to arrive on campus for the football game so that FSU employees ending their work day may exit the parking lots.
  2. Tailgating will not be allowed to begin until 5:15 pm.  Tailgate lots are Lots 35, 36 and 37.  A map showing the location of these lots is located below.  Lot 2 will be closed for football parking on September 1 due to evening classes in the Swan Building.
  3. Our football game day parking attendants will be in place at 4:30 pm to provide information and direction.  We will not allow access or collect the parking fee until 5 pm.  We will charge our normal football parking fee of $5 for every parking space needed/used.
  4. Students, faculty/staff and others who are on campus for class and/or business purposes will simply need to display their Parking Services issued hanging decal and inform the attendant of their business on campus and they will not be charged.
  5. Friends of Ferris, faculty emeriti, retiree's, etc. who are coming onto campus to participate in the Founder's Day Celebration and Ice Cream Social are encouraged to park in Lot 1 just east of the University Center.  Additional parking is also available in Lot 13.
  6. We are anticipating a very good crowd for this home opening football game so if you are returning to campus or just getting to campus after 4:30 pm on Thursday please anticipate increased traffic and delays in getting to your preferred parking lot and plan accordingly.
  7. Kick-off for the football game is 7:30 pm.  Tickets will be available for purchase during the week at the Ice Arena Box Office or at the Top Taggart Box Office the day of the game.
