"Kidz Day" Saturday As Bulldogs Battle Wayne State In Showdown Of Nationally-Ranked Squads

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University football squad wraps up a three-game homestand in Big Rapids on Saturday (Oct. 29) with a major showdown against the Wayne State Warriors in a battle of nationally-ranked teams at FSU's Top Taggart Field.

The contest will have potential postseason implications as the 7-1 Warriors and the 6-2 Bulldogs will meet in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play with kickoff set for 1 p.m. (ET).

Tickets for this Saturday's game are currently on sale and fans can save by purchasing in advance. Fans are encouraged to "come early, cheer loud and wear red!".

Saturday will be "Kidz Day" and all children will get in free when accompanied by an adult. The event will include bounce houses, a halftime costume parade, "Chase The Bulldog", autographs and more. All rocket football squads are also invited to attend.

The Bulldogs are coming off a decisive 42-10 win over the Lake Erie Storm and have kept their hopes for a third-straight NCAA Playoff bid alive with back-to-back home wins the past two weeks. Meanwhile, Wayne State has won its last six contests in a row and also comes in with postseason aspirations this year.

This week, WSU is ranked 19th and the Bulldogs 22nd in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II National Rankings. More importantly, Wayne State is listed sixth and FSU ninth in the initial NCAA Division II Super Region Four Rankings that will help deterine the NCAA Playoff field at the end of the season. 

Tickets for Saturday's game can be bought online at www.StarTickets.com, by calling (800) 585-3737, or in person thru the FSU Athletics Ticket Office located inside the Ewigleben Sports Complex.  The ticket office is open today thru Friday from 9 a.m. (ET) to 5 p.m. (ET) with extended hours on Wednesday until 7 p.m. (ET).

Football tickets for Saturday's game if purchased in advance prior to gameday are $12 for adults along with $10 for senior citizens (ages 65+) and FSU faculty/staff. Prices go up to $15 for adults and $12 for seniors and faculty/staff the day of the game. Ferris students with ID will be admitted free by showing their student identification cards.

Parking in lots near Top Taggart Field is $5 per available space on a first-come, first-served basis. As a convenience to fans, credit cards will also be accepted at the ticket window along with the concession stand.

Tailgating will be permitted starting on Saturday at 10 a.m. (ET) with the gates to the stadium opening 90 minutes prior to kickoff at 11:30 a.m. (ET). The Bulldog Walk "Player Parade" will start at 10:30 a.m. Wayne State fans are requested to park in Lot 2.

The FSU-WSU football game will be broadcast live locally by the Bulldog Sports Network and Sunny 97.3 FM with Rob Bentley handling the play-by-play duties and Sandy Gholston offering color commentary.  A live high-definition video and audio webcast complete with internet statistics will be available through FSU's all-access video portal for a charge of $7.95 on FSU's Athletics Website at www.FerrisStateBulldogs.com.
