Big Rapids, Mich. - The 2018 Ferris State University football season is quickly approaching and the FSU Gridiron Club membership drive is off to a record-breaking start as the Bulldogs gear up for another exciting season with big aspirations.

Presently, this year's membership drive is off to a fast start and is projected to potentially set an all-time best based on the current pace. The club is encouraging all of those individuals who have not yet renewed or joined the Gridiron Club to do so at this time.

The mission of the Ferris State University Gridiron Club is to build and maintain a spirit of loyalty and pride for Ferris State University Football. As committed partners of the University, the Gridiron Club supports all aspects of the Bulldog Football program by encouraging and engaging alumni, alumni players, parents, faculty, staff, businesses and loyal fans to support the great traditions of Bulldog Football.

Over its many years of existence, the Ferris State Gridiron Club has grown from a handful of fans to over 500 individual members and businesses. The financial support and encouragement of Gridiron Club members continues to inspire coaches and players from year to year. It is this commitment that keeps alive the strong tradition of Ferris State football.

Season tickets, parking passes and premiums will be mailed by all FSU Gridiron Club members who have already joined in the near future. For those who join after Friday, Aug. 24, and who qualify for game tickets and/or parking, they can be picked up in person prior to the home opener on Aug. 30 at the Bulldog Athletic Association tent located at Top Taggart Field.

All individuals donating $125 or more to the Gridiron Club receive two general admission tickets to every home game (does not include the Battle At The Ballpark to be played at Fifth Third Ballpark). This year, the Bulldogs will play five home contests at Top Taggart Field. Gridiron Club parking is not included at the $125 giving level, but can be purchased for an additional $25.

Those who donate $250 or more will also receive a parking pass for the Gridiron Club tailgate lot (lots 35 & 36). Several other package options are also available that include preferred seating, an invitation to the President's Box, a locker room recognition plaque, sideline passes and more.

The Bulldogs, who are the nation's preseason #3 squad by at least one source, will begin their 110th season of varsity competition this coming fall with their sights set on making a fifth consecutive trip to the NCAA Division II Playoffs. FSU has made back-to-back NCAA Division II National Quarterfinal appearances and is one of only five teams in all of college football to win at least 11 games each of the past four years. The Bulldogs along with Northwest Missouri State are the only programs in Division II football to make the playoffs each of the past four seasons.

In six seasons under head coach Tony Annese, the Bulldogs have become a national power on the Division II level. FSU has posted a 60-14 overall mark in the last six years and the Bulldogs have also posted the best winning percentage of all 21 collegiate programs in the state of Michigan along with the GLIAC since his arrival. Last summer, Hero Sports picked FSU as Michigan's Best College Football program regardless of division.

Ferris State will return nearly 50 letterwinners for the 2018 campaign. The Bulldogs will open the season at home under the lights at Top Taggart Field on Thursday, Aug. 30, with a non-conference matchup versus East Stroudsburg (Pa.) starting at 7:30 p.m. (ET).
