Ferris State Climbs To #6 In This Week's D2Football.com National Poll
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University football squad has climbed to #6 this week in the D2Football.com national poll following an impressive season-opening victory.
The Bulldogs are ranked the highest of three Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) schools in the top 25 rankings from the media source with Grand Valley State 12th and Ashland 18th in the listing.
In addition, FSU's opponent this week, Findlay, is ranked 19th overall.
The D2Football.com Top 25 poll features Minnesota State at the top followed by defending national champion Texas A&M-Commerce, West Florida, Indiana (Pa.) and Northwest Missouri State in front of FSU.
Ferris State is a consensus top 10 team in the country in every Division II poll this week, including as high as #4 in the CompughterRatings.com and Massey Online Computer Ratings polls along with the Hero Sports Rankings. FSU is also #6 in the D2Football.com poll in addition to 9th by the AFCA.
The unbeaten Bulldogs will host Findlay this Saturday (Sept. 8) night in a non-league top 20 showdown at Top Taggart Field. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. (ET) under the lights in Big Rapids. It will be FSU Student Starbucks Day with the first 100 students receiving a free beverage compliments of Starbucks.
Tickets for Saturday's home game are on sale now and fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance.
