Ferris State To Face Minnesota State On Road In D2 National Semifinals This Coming Saturday

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University Bulldogs will next square off against Minnesota State in the 2018 NCAA Division II National Semifinals on Saturday, Dec. 8, at Blakeslee Stadium in Mankato, Minn.

The Bulldogs, who beat Ouachita Baptist 37-14 on the road Saturday in the national quarterfinals in Arkansas, will meet the Mavericks in the semifinal tilt starting at 3 p.m. (ET). The game will be aired live by ESPN3 and air locally on flagship station Sunny 97.3 FM and online at FerrisStateBulldogs.com.

The four remaining semifinal teams were reseeded following Saturday's quarterfinal games and the Bulldogs drew the #3 seed with Minnesota State picked #2 overall. In the other semifinal match, top-seeded Valdosta State (Ga.) will host fourth-seeded Notre Dame (Ohio) on Saturday at 12 p.m. (ET).

The two semifinal winners will then meet in the D2 National Championship game on Dec. 15 in McKinney, Texas.

Presently, the Bulldogs own a nation-leading 14-0 overall record this season and have won three-straight D2 playoff games, capturing their second Super Region Championship in the past three years. The Bulldogs will be making their third-ever national semifinal appearance, including the second berth in the past three seasons.

Meanwhile, Minnesota State holds a 13-0 mark to date this season and is coming off a 13-10 quarterfinal-round home win over Tarleton State (Texas) in a game played under heavy snowy conditions in Mankato.
