Big Rapids, Mich. - The seventh annual Ferris State University Men's Basketball Alumni and Friends Golf Outing will be held Wednesday, July 28, at the prestigious Tullymore Golf Club in Canadian Lakes, Mich.

The four-person golf scramble serves as one of the program’s primary fundraising events. The 18-hole outing will begin with registration at 7:30 a.m., and an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start on the five-star course rated among Golf Digest's "Best Places to Play" across the country each of the last two years.

The entry fee, which is $110 per person or $440 a team, includes 18 holes of golf with a cart, coffee and donuts prior to tee off, a luncheon following play, raffle, silent auction and many other activities throughout the round. A great package of team and individual prizes will also be awarded. In addition, members of the Bulldog men's basketball team, coaching staff and various FSU Athletics Department staff will be on hand throughout the day.

Business and individual sponsorships are also available, including tee or green sponsorships ($100), a cart sponsorship ($500) and an outing sponsorship ($1000). Exclusive hole sponsorships are available for $175 while the cost of a foursome along with a tee or green sponsorship is $515.

"Our staff is excited to offer an opportunity to bring together alumni, family and friends for a fun day of golf and fellowship at Tullymore," said FSU head coach Bill Sall, who recently completed his eighth year at the helm. "We're working hard to continue the success and carry on the great basketball tradition established at Ferris State.

"All proceeds from this outing will go to our efforts to maintain the excellence Bulldog Basketball has known," Sall added. "We appreciate all of the support in the past and look forward to this year's outing."

The unique design of Tullymore has been described by famed golf critic Ron Whitten as having an Art Deco flavor with its greens and fairways that follow precise and parallel zigzags, its artistically shaped bunkers and its symmetrically repetitive mounding. But that architectural artistry is only part of what will fascinate you during your round. The layout was created by famed golf architect Jim Engh. Soon after opening in 2002, Tullymore was named the No. 1 New Upscale Public Course in America by Golf Digest. Since then more honors have poured in, including being named one of the top 15 public courses in America and among the top 100 greatest of all courses in America by Golf Digest in 2007.

Most recently, the course was chosen by Golf Digest as the number 14 Greatest Public & Resort Golf Course in America for 2008. The course also opened a new $7 million state-of-the-art clubhouse facility two summers ago that was voted as the Best New Clubhouse in America for 2009. The beautiful 13,000 square foot stone, glass, and wood clubhouse is the centerpiece of the $50 million Villages at Tullymore development.

Subtle ups and downs make Tullymore a distinctive golfing adventure through 800 acres of wood and water on this tranquil course. Lakes lap the landscape and the Shinglebolt Creek winds through the course. The greens of Tullymore, guarded by oak sentinels, have an infinite variety of shapes and sizes making each hole a personal, unforgettable experience.

This year's Men's Basketball Alumni and Friends Golf Outing marks the fourth consecutive year it will be held at Tullymore following a two-year stint at its sister course, the St. Ives' Golf Club. The initial Alumni and Friends Outing in 2004 was also held at Tullymore.

Ferris State concluded the 2009-10 men's basketball campaign with a 16-13 overall record and the Bulldogs placed tied for second (13-9) in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) North Division play. In addition, FSU made its 11th GLIAC Tournament appearance this campaign, which was the program's fifth berth in the last six years.

The Bulldogs have claimed two GLIAC North Division Championships and made two NCAA Division II Tournament appearances under Sall's direction, including a trip to the NCAA-II Sweet Sixteen in 2004-05.
