Men's Basketball Adds Cribbs & Sinnaeve

Big Rapids, Mich. - Two more prep players have joined the Ferris State University men's basketball program as the Bulldogs have added wing players Milton Cribbs (Inkster) and Matt Sinnaeve (Gwinn).  Both will be freshmen in the 2011-12 campaign.

The announcement was made by FSU head coach Bill Sall, who directed the Bulldogs to the 2010-11 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) North Division Championship and the NCAA Division II Sweet Sixteen.

The 6-4 Cribbs was tabbed as one of the state's top 10 wing guards in the class of 2011 by Next Generation Sports and ranked 79th among the nation's top small forwards by ESPN.  He was also listed as one of Bankhoops.com's top 50 seniors prior to the 2010-11 campaign.

As a junior, Cribbs helped Inkster to a Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) Class B State Semifinal berth along with a 24-2 overall record under head coach Durand Shepherd.  The showing included a district title win over the state's top-ranked team in Romulus.  Cribbs also played football as a wide receiver for Inkster.

"Milton is an intense player and athletic young man who can defend," said Sall.  "As he continues to develop, he'll be a perfect fit for our style of play and we're excited about his addition."

Sinnaeeve was named to the Upper Peninsula Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association Boys Basketball Dream Team this past season in addition to the Detroit Free Press All-State team.  He averaged a double-double for the Modeltowners by pouring in 19.5 points and 13 rebounds per contest while also totaling 52 steals, 68 assists and 20 blocked shots.

As a junior, Sinnaeve helped Gwinn to a regional finals appearance.  He played for his father, Darren, and led Gwinn in virtually every statistical category as a prep senior while shooting 49% from the floor and earning Mid-Peninsula Conference All-star recognition.  The standout forward received an invitation to play in the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan (BCAM) All-Star game on Aug. 6 at The Palace of Auburn Hills.

"Matt's excited about coming to Ferris State and is a kid who works hard both on the floor and in the classroom," Sall said.  "We're looking forward to him joining our team."

Cribbs and Sinnaeve join Drew Lehman (Toledo/Central Catholic), Dietrich Lever (Canton), Jared Stolicker (Middleville/Thornapple-Kellogg) and Tyrin Wade (Lansing/Sexton) as incoming freshmen for the 2011-12 season.

Ferris State concluded the 2010-11 season by capturing the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) North Division Championship and reaching the NCAA Division II Sweet Sixteen.  

Overall, the 24 wins (24-8) recorded by the Bulldogs this season is tied for the third-highest total in school history and FSU's 16 league regular-season victories was best in the conference and tied for the most GLIAC wins ever by a Ferris State team.
