FSU Men's Basketball Banquet This Sunday

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's basketball squad will celebrate its championship season by holding its annual Awards Banquet, presented by the Rebounders Booster Club, on Sunday, April 15, at CK's Place located just south of Big Rapids.

Fans and family members are encouraged to help honor this year's GLIAC North Division Co-Champions and can reserve a seat to join the coaching staff, administration and basketball team as the season's accomplishments are highlighted throughout the event.

Head coach Bill Sall will review the 2011-12 season and present individual honors and awards, with a special recognition gift and tribute to the team's four seniors in Jerrell Sanders (Grand Rapids/Creston), Dontae Molden (Detroit/Pershing), Jim Boylan (Grayling) and Spencer Sellner (Lowell). The Bulldogs' Most Valuable Player Award recipient will also be among the special honors announced during the day.

A 1 p.m. (ET) social gathering precedes the dinner at 1:30 p.m. (ET) with the program to immediately follow.

Banquet tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children under eight years of age. Player sponsorships are also available for those interested for $20 each.

Further information is available and reservations may be made by calling the FSU Men's Basketball Office at (231) 250-4708. Checks are payable to "Ferris State University".

Ferris State ended the 2011-12 campaign with a 16-11 overall record after winning a share of a second-straight GLIAC North Division Championship with a 13-6 league mark.

The Bulldogs also made their 13th all-time GLIAC Tournament berth this past year, including the program's fourth-straight conference tournament appearance and seventh bid in the last eight years.

Additionally, Ferris State's 16 wins this campaign marked the 10th consecutive year in which the Bulldogs had won 10 or more games.  It is also the third year in a row in which FSU has won at least 16 games and the fifth time the Bulldogs have done so in 10 years under Sall's direction.
