Big Rapids, Mich. - The ninth annual Ferris State University Men's Basketball Alumni and Friends Golf Outing will be held Wednesday, July 25, at FSU's Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids, Mich.

All Bulldog fans and friends are invited to take part in the four-person scramble, which serves as one of the program's primary fundraising events. The 18-hole outing will begin with registration at 8:30 a.m., and a 9:45 a.m. rules meeting followed by a 10 a.m. shotgun start.

The entry fee, which is $80 per person or $320 a team, includes 18 holes of golf with a cart, a buffet luncheon at Buffalo Wild Wings following play, raffle, silent auction and many other activities throughout the round. A great package of team and individual prizes will also be awarded. In addition, members of the Bulldog men's basketball team, coaching staff and various FSU Athletics Department staff will be on hand throughout the day.

Business and individual sponsorships are also available, including tee sponsorships ($100) or a corporate package that includes a foursome and a tee sponsorship for $400.

"Our staff is excited to offer an opportunity to bring together alumni, family and friends for a fun day of golf," said FSU head coach Bill Sall, who recently completed his 10th year at the helm by leading the Bulldogs to a second consecutive Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) North Division Championship.

"All proceeds from this outing will go to our efforts to maintain the excellence Bulldog Basketball has known," Sall added. "We appreciate all of the support in the past and look forward to this year's outing."

For more information regarding either the outing or to register, please contact Coach Sall in the FSU Men's Basketball Office by calling (231) 250-4708. A registration form can also be downloaded from this page. Deadline for registration is July 20.

Ferris State ended the 2011-12 campaign with a 16-11 overall record after winning a share of a second-straight GLIAC North Division Championship with a 13-6 league mark. The Bulldogs also made their 13th all-time GLIAC Tournament berth this past year, including the program's fourth-straight conference tournament appearance and seventh bid in the last eight years.

Additionally, Ferris State's 16 wins this campaign marked the 10th consecutive year in which the Bulldogs had won 10 or more games.  It is also the third year in a row in which FSU has won at least 16 games and the fifth time the Bulldogs have done so in 10 years under Sall's direction. In Sall's Bulldog head coaching tenure, Ferris State has won four league titles and made three trips to the NCAA Tournament.

Ferris State's Katke Golf Course ranks among the finest University-owned golf courses in the United States. The course covers over 6,847 yards and is the highest point in Mecosta County, helping to define the scenic West Michigan landscape. Katke won the 2009 Mecosta Country Peoples' Choice Awards for favorite golf range and favorite golf course in the area.

Designed by Robert Beard, Katke Golf Course opened for public play in 1974. The golf course has undergone some major renovations since 2004. Katke is a true test for any caliber of player.
