Record Turnout Expected For 12th Annual Ferris State Men's Basketball Alumni & Friends Golf Outing

Big Rapids, Mich. - A record turnout is expected and limited availability already reamins for the 12th annual Ferris State University Men's Basketball Alumni and Friends Golf Outing will be held Wednesday, July 22, at FSU's Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids, Mich.
All Bulldog fans and friends are invited to take part in the four-person scramble, which serves as one of the program's primary fundraising events. The 18-hole outing will begin with registration at 8:30 a.m., and a 9:45 a.m. rules meeting followed by a 10 a.m. shotgun start.
"I'm looking forward to our best outing yet and celebrating our championship season with those who attend," said FSU head coach Andy Bronkema. "This event is always a great way to catch up with alumni and friends while building support for our program and it will give us an opportunity to reflect back on such a memorable season."
More than 100 golferers have took part in the event each of the last two years.
The entry fee, which is $80 per person or $320 a team, includes 18 holes of golf with a cart, a postgame luncheon at Buffalo Wild Wings following play, raffle, silent auction and many other activities throughout the round. A great package of team and individual prizes will also be awarded. In addition, members of the Bulldog men's basketball program and various FSU Athletics Department staff will be on hand throughout the day.
Business and individual sponsorships are also available, including tee sponsorships ($100) or a corporate package that includes a foursome and a tee sponsorship for $400. All proceeds from the outing support the men's basketball program.

Ferris State's Katke Golf Course ranks among the finest University-owned golf courses in the United States. The course covers over 6,847 yards and is the highest point in Mecosta County, helping to define the scenic West Michigan landscape. Katke has won the Mecosta Country Peoples' Choice Awards for favorite golf range and favorite golf course in the area in recent years.
Designed by Robert Beard, Katke Golf Course opened for public play in 1974. The golf course has undergone some major renovations since 2004. Katke is a true test for any caliber of player.
Ferris State won the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournament Championship and reached the NCAA-II Tournament this past year in the second season under Bronkema's direction.
FSU finished the 2014-15 campaign with a 23-9 overall record. In addition to winning the GLIAC Tournament Championship this year, the Bulldogs' season was also highlighted by an NCAA Tournament appearance and several other accomplishments including a top 20 national ranking, a 15-game regular season win streak, an exhibition victory over NCAA Division I Bowling Green and signature wins such as the team's first-ever victory at Findlay's Croy Gymnasium. FSU also led the GLIAC in attendance during the regular season while senior guard Drew Lehman was named only the second All-American in the last 40 years for the Bulldogs.
