Ferris State Home Basketball Games Next Week To Be Played At Big Rapids HS

Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University Athletics has announced a venue change for next week's home Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) doubleheaders for the Bulldog men's and women's basketball squads.

Both Bulldog teams are slated to host Lake Erie and Ashland on Thursday (Dec. 3) and Saturday (Dec. 5), respectively, in Big Rapids. However, with FSU also awarded the 2015 NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Volleyball Tournament to be played inside FSU's Jim Wink Arena, both basketball doubleheaders will now be played at Big Rapids High School.

Thursday's doubleheader versus Lake Erie will be played at the scheduled time with the women's game beginning at 6 p.m. (ET) followed by the men's contest at 8 p.m. (ET). But, the twinbill versus Ashland on Saturday will now take place starting at 3 p.m. for the women and 5 p.m. for the men due to other events at BRHS.

Tickets for both doubleheaders will be sold at the door next week at Big Rapids High School, which is located just west of the Ferris State campus at 21175 15 Mile Road behind Katke Golf Course. Parking will be free and available near the gym entrance at the south end of the BRHS campus.

Adult general admission tickets for Ferris State Basketball are $7 for adults or $5 for faculty/staff, seniors (ages 65+) and students (age 3 to 12th grade). Meanwhile, all Ferris State students are admitted free with a valid ID card.

For additional ticket information or details, please call the FSU Athletics Ticket Office at (231) 591-2888.

The games at Big Rapids High School will mark the first time either Bulldog squad has played in the facility since hosting Lake Superior State in league action back in 2003. FSU also played its home schedule at BRHS in 1998-99 while the current Jim Wink Arena was under construction.

Before opening conference play next week, both FSU squads will first hit the road for non-league regional action this weekend. The nationally 18th-ranked Bulldog men visit Wisconsin-Parkside for a showdown between unbeaten teams on Saturday (Nov. 28) afternoon in Kenosha, Wis. The women's team will visit Lewis (Ill.) on Sunday (Nov. 29) for a regional matchup against the Flyers in Romeoville, Ill.
