Ferris State Stays Unbeaten With Road Victory Over Cedarville

Cedarville, Ohio - The Ferris State University men's basketball squad stayed unbeaten as the Bulldogs went on the road and picked up a regional road victory with a 95-73 triumph over Cedarville on Tuesday (Nov. 22) night at the Callan Athletic Center in Cedarville, Ohio.

The Bulldogs opened up a 46-35 halftime edge and outscored the Yellowjackets 49-38 the rest of the way to improve to 4-0 this season.

Sophomore center Zach Hankins tallied 17 points and a personal career-high 21 rebounds in leading the Bulldogs to the win. He nearly outrebounded Cedarville himself as the Yellowjackets were outrebounded by a 45-24 margin for the game. FSU also came up with 15 offensive boards, including seven from Hankins.

He was one of four FSU players to reach double-digit scoring with senior quard Quentin Ruff also scoring 17 points. Mory Diane chipped in 13 points and Peter Firlik tallied 11 points for FSU in the victory.

Ferris State shot 55.9% from the floor and went seven-of-21 (33.3%) from three-point range along with 12-of-19 (63.2%) at the line.

Meanwhile, Cedarville finished shooting 43.9% overall and hit seven-of-17 (41.2%) three's in addition toa 16-of-24 (66.7%) showing at the line.

Patrick Bain led the Yellowjackets off the bench with 16 points while J.C. Faubion added 12 points as Cedarville fell to 2-3 overall.

The Bulldogs finished with 10 assists, 12 turnovers, five steals and two blocked shots in comparision to CU's 13 assists, 10 turnovers, six steals and one block.

Overall, the Bulldogs played all 12 players in uniform and 10 scored in the convincing win as FSU stayed unbeaten this season.

Ferris State returns home to host Wisconsin-Parkside on Saturday, Nov.26, at Wink Arena. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m. (ET) in Big Rapids.
