Ferris State Basketball Hosts Rival GVSU On Thursday Night At Wink Arena

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's basketball squads will wrap up the regular-season at home on Thursday (Feb. 23) night as the Bulldogs host archrival Grand Valley State in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) twinbill inside FSU's Jim Wink Arena.

The Bulldog women's squad will play its final game of the year in the opener starting at 6 p.m. (ET) with the GLIAC Champion men's basketball squad taking the floor against GVSU beginning at 8 p.m. (ET).

Thursday will be Faculty Appreciation Night as the Bulldogs honor various campus faculty members for their service and efforts towards assisting Ferris State student-athletes.

Tickets for Thursday's home basketball doubleheader will be sold on gameday starting one hour prior to the women's contest inside the Ewigleben Sports Complex. Adult general admission tickets for Ferris State Basketball are $7 for adults or $5 for faculty/staff, seniors (ages 65+) and students (age 3 to 12th grade). Meanwhile, all Ferris State students are admitted free with a valid ID card.

For additional ticket information or details, please call the FSU Athletics Ticket Office at (231) 591-2888.

Both games will also be carried live by flagship station Sunny 97.3 FM and the Bulldog Sports Network with live audio and video streams at FerrisStateBulldogs.com. Pregame coverage begins a half-hour prior to the women's contest.

Earlier this season, the two West Michigan rival split a league doubleheader in Allendale with the GVSU women winning game one before the Bulldog men's squad rolled to a decisive 98-73 triumph over the Lakers on Jan. 31 at the Grand Valley State Fieldhouse Arena.

Both Grand Valley State teams will be playing for important seeding for the upcoming GLIAC Tournament. Meanwhile, the FSU men's team, which is currently 23-4 on the year, has locked up the number one seed for the league tourney and will try to keep the momentum going with a win over the Lakers.

Ferris State's men's squad has currently won 18 of its last 19 games heading into Thursday's home showdown. After wrapping up the regular season on Thursday, the Bulldogs will then host a GLIAC Tournament Quarterfinal game on Tuesday, Feb. 28, starting at 7 p.m. (ET) in Big Rapids against either Ashland or Hillsdale.

FSU would also host the GLIAC Semifinals and Finals for the first time since 2011 on March 4-5 with a win in Tuesday's home quarterfinal-round action.
