Ferris State Closes GLIAC/GLVC Challenge With Another Victory To Move To 4-0 On Year

Big Rapids, Mich. - The nationally-ranked Ferris State University men's basketball squad kept its perfect mark intact on Saturday (Nov. 11) as the Bulldogs notched a 70-46 win over Missouri-St. Louis inside FSU's Jim Wink Arena.

The Bulldogs moved to 4-0 on the year with a second-straight weekend sweep. It came before the home fans in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC)/Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Challenge.

Senior guard Drew Cushingberry continued his impressive season-opening play with a squad-high 18 points in the win. FSU also got 13 points and nine boards from junior All-America center Zach Hankins to go with 11 points from senior wing Noah King.

FSU connected on 27-of-59 (45.8%) fields and sank nine-of-28 (32.1%) three's along with seven-of-18 (38.9%) free throws in the triumph.

Steven Davis paced the Tritons with a team-high 13 points, but was the only player to reach double-figure scoring for UMSL. Missouri-St. Louis went 35.3% from the floor and three-of-15 (20%) from the arc in addition to making seven-of-12 (58.9%) free throws.

On the glass, the Bulldogs held a slim 39-36 rebounding edge and FSU came up with 12 offensive caroms.

Ferris State turned the ball over 13 times, but also had 16 assists, nine steals and five blocks in the victory.

The Tritons finished with 12 assists, eight steals and four swats to go with 19 turnovers.

Sophomore guared D'angelo Hughes had a game-high five steals for the Bulldogs in the win.

The Bulldogs outscored UMSL 30-18 inside the paint along with 20-6 in points off turnovers and 16-3 in second chance production. Overall, the Bulldogs led by as many as 28 points in the win.

Ferris State will host Hillsdale in non-league action on Thursday, Nov. 16, starting at 6 p.m. (ET) inside Wink Arena. The contest continues an eight-game homestand for the Bulldogs.
