Big Rapids, Mich. - The 2018 NCAA Division II National Champion Ferris State University men's basketball team and National Coach of the Year Andy Bronkema are featured prominently in a national publication this month.

The official news magazine of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), Timeout, has included both Bronkema and the Bulldogs in its summer 2018 edition. The publication is distributed to basketball coaches across the country at all levels.

The summer publication produced by the national organization includes a photo of the Bulldogs' national championship squad as part of its celebration of this year's champions. In addition, Bronkema is featured as the NABC's 2017-18 D2 Coach of the Year while standout center Zach Hankins is displayed as the NABC D2 National Player of the Year.

Along with the recognition commemorating this year's accomplishments, two more pages are also devoted to the Bulldogs with a special chalk-talk article produced by Bronkema that talks about the Bulldogs' philosophy on rebounding.

The publication is the latest organization to highlight the Bulldogs' success. Earlier this summer, Hankins was featured with a special trading card in "Sports Illustrated" for Kids while Bronkema was also recognized as a special Small College Basketball Awards show in Kansas City.

This past year, Bronkema guided Ferris State to the school's first NCAA Division II National Championship. Overall, he has now led FSU to four consecutive Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament titles and four NCAA tournament appearances. Over five seasons under Bronkema, the Bulldogs have a 123-41 won-lost record, a winning percentage of .750.

This past campaign, the Bulldogs matched the all-time NCAA Division II record of 38 wins and closed the year by winning their final 26 games en route to the national championship. FSU also won its second consecutive GLIAC title, fourth-straight conference tournament championship and won the Midwest Regional title.

Bronkema was chosen this year as the National Coach of the Year by the National Association of Basketball Coaches, Division II Bulletin, the Basketball Times and HoopDirt.com. He also earned GLIAC Coach of the Year honors for the second-straight campaign and was named the NABC Midwest Region Coach of the Year as well.
