Big Week Of Action As Ferris State Basketball Teams Return Home To Wink Arena

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's basketball squads return home after a five-game Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) road swing for a pair of league doubleheaders this week inside FSU's Jim Wink Arena.

The Bulldogs will host Wisconsin-Parkside in a divisional showdown on Thursday (Jan. 23) night with the men's game slated for a 5:30 p.m. (ET) start followed by the women's game at approximately 7:30 p.m. (ET).

FSU then hosts Purdue Northwest on Saturday (Jan. 25) in league afternoon action with the men hitting the floor at 1 p.m. (ET) and the women's contest scheduled to begin at approximately 3 p.m. (ET).

Both of Thursday night's matchups will have big implications in the GLIAC North Division as the Rangers sit only a game ahead of FSU on the women's side and the Parkside men's team is just one game behind Ferris State and Michigan Tech in the men's standings.

The Bulldog men's squad is ranked 13th nationally this week in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division II National Poll with a nation-leading 18 wins overall. The Bulldogs are currently 18-3 on the year and tied for first place in the GLIAC North Division with a 7-2 league slate.

Meanwhile, the Rangers enter Thursday night's action with a 10-7 mark and sit a game behind FSU and Michigan Tech in the division at 6-3 in league play. Saturday's opponent, Purdue Northwest, is presently 7-10 overall and 2-7 in the GLIAC going into Thursday's road contest at Lake Superior State.

On the women's side, the Bulldogs are 12-5 to date this season and are riding a five-game winning streak, all of which came on the road. FSU is 6-3 to date this year in conference action.

Heading into Thursday night's action, Wisconsin-Parkside leads the GLIAC North Division race with a 10-7 overall record and a 7-2 league slate. Purdue Northwest is 4-13 overall and 3-6 in the GLIAC.
