Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University men's basketball junior guard Walt Kelser (Southfield) has been named to the 2020 Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) All-Midwest Region Second Team as announced today.

Overall, Kelser was one of only four players from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) named to either of the all-region squads.

The first-team was headlined by Michigan Tech senior Kyle Monroe, who earned D2CCA Midwest Region Player of the Year accolades. Senior Brodric Thomas of Truman State University, senior Gabe Kynard of Lake Erie, junior guard/forward Jake Van Tubbergen of Grand Valley State and senior Jimmy King of the University of Indianapolis joined Monroe on the first
team.

The second team picks consisted of Bellarmine University's Alex Cook, University of Missouri-St. Louis' Yaakema Rose, Ohio Dominican University's Hasan Varence and Saginaw Valley State University's Myles Belyeu along with Kelser.

In his first season on the floor for FSU, Kelser helped lead the Bulldogs to the GLIAC Championship and an NCAA Division II Tournament appearance. The Bulldogs closed the year with a 27-6 overall record and earned their third league title in the past four seasons while receiving their fifth NCAA Tournament bid in the last six years.

Kelser ranked among the GLIAC leaders with a team-high 17.6 points per game scoring average this season. He made 33 starts for the Bulldogs and finished with 28 double-figure scoring performances, including three games of 30 points or more this season.
