*2009-10 Division II PING All-America First-Team Release* PDF

Ferris State University senior Eric Lilleboe (Okemos/Lansing Catholic Central) has been named to the 2009-10 Division II Men's Golf PING All-America First Team as recently announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) following the 2009-10 NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships (May 18-21) in Noblesville, Ind.

Lilleboe was one nine players to earn first-team All-America recognition and lone representative from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).  The selection of Lilleboe represents the 10th time in which a Ferris State men's golf student-athlete has attained All-America status.  He also is the first individual in the program's history to receive first-team accolades.

Lilleboe, a two-time (2008-09 and 2009-10) PING All-Midwest Region selection, led the nationally 24th-ranked tying Ferris State team with a career single-season best 73.00 stroke average (2,409 total strokes) in 33 rounds of competition.  The 2009-10 GLIAC Men's Golf "Athlete of the Year" finished among the top 10 on 10 occasions this season, which included being the top individual medalist in three tournaments - Saginaw Valley State Al Watrous Intercollegiate Invitational (Sept. 12-13), Ferris State Matt Pinter Invitational (Sept. 26-27), and GLIAC Championships (Oct. 3-5).  He set a school record in the Bulldogs' season-opening tourney at the Saginaw Valley State Al Watrous Intercollegiate Invite with a three-round 14-under-par 202-stroke total (67-65-70=202) as Ferris State claimed top team honors.

This season, Lilleboe registered 11 top-20 place finishes which featured seven in the top five.  He was recognized as the GLIAC Men's Golf Athlete of the Week four times (Sept. 15, 22, 29 and Oct. 7) this 2009-10 campaign.

In the 2009-10 NCAA-II Championships, Lilleboe helped Ferris State to its highest-finish ever with a seventh-place tying 1,232 four-round team score.  Individually, he finished tied for 37th place at nationals by carding a 311-stroke total (73-78-81-79=311, +23).

A three-time (2007-08, 2008-09 and 2009-10) All-GLIAC First-Team performer, Lilleboe was tabbed the GLIAC's Men's Golf "Athlete of the Year" in the 2007-08 season.

Lilleboe concluded his four-year (2006-10) career at Ferris State averaging 73.67 strokes a round (7,588 total strokes) in 103 rounds.  He accumulated 29 top 10-place performances for his career, highlighted by 18 among the top-five finishers.
