The Bulldogs fired rounds of 319 and 307 to finish 50 strokes above par.  Findlay captured top honors by shooting a 608 score (+32), which was one stroke ahead of second-place Grand Valley State (609, +33).  Tiffin and Ashland share third place as a result of producing 611 team totals (+35).

Seniors Kyle Wittenbach (Lowell) and Joe Brown (St. Ignace/LaSalle) led the Bulldogs as the two were among eight players to earn a share of 14th place.  Wittenbach (77-76=153, +9) and Brown (75-78=153, +9) were followed by senior Garrett Simons (Grand Ledge), who carded a 35th-place tying 157 score (82-75=157, +13).

Sophomore Tyler Robinson (Haslett) netted a 165 (87-78=165, +21) to tie for 55th place.  Junior Gary Bissell (East Lansing/Haslett) rounded out the scoring for FSU with tallying a 166 (85-81=166, +22), which proved good for a four-way tie for a 58th placing.

Ferris State entered the season-opening tournament ranked 18th nationally in the 2010-11 Golf World/Nike Golf Division II Preseason Coaches' Poll (Sept. 6).

The Bulldogs continue action on the links this weekend (Sept. 19-20), participating in the NCAA-II Midwest Region Tournament I at South Haven, Mich.
