NCAA Super Regional's Second Round Postponed Due To Rain

Rain and wet course conditions has forced the postponement of this Tuesday's (May 3) second-round play at the 2011 NCAA Division II Midwest/South Central Super Regional in Georgetown, Ky.

As a result, both the second and final rounds are scheduled for this Wednesday (May 4).  The second round will commence with a 7:30 a.m. (EDT) shotgun start and round three will immediately follow with the same pairings as round two.

Ferris State is presently tied for 18th place after carding a 303 team score (+15) in Monday's (May 2) opening-round action on the par 72, 6,842-yard Cherry Blossom Golf Course.

Individually, senior Garrett Simons (Grand Ledge) leads the Bulldogs with an one-under par 71 score which is good for an eighth-place tie.  Senior Kyle Wittenbach (Lowell) is presently tied for 61st place with a four-over par 76 first-round total.

The top five teams and the top two individuals not affiliated with a team from each regional (regardless of region) will qualify for the 2011 NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships (May 16-20) at Muscle Shoals, Ala.

Ferris State, which is directed by fourth-year head coach Michael Mignano, is seeded eighth in the Midwest Region and is midst its ninth consecutive NCAA Regional Tournament appearance.
