Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University was well-represented on the All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) men's and women's golf teams announced today (April 30) by the league office for the 2011-12 campaign.

The Bulldog women had four individuals recognized as all-conference selections, including a trio of All-GLIAC Second Team choices in senior Bryce Hetchler along with sophomores Jacqueline DeBoer and Emily Rohdy.  Meanwhile, senior Erin Fuchik attained All-GLIAC Honorable Mention accolades.

On the men's side, two Bulldog golfers were recognized as sophomore Trent Davison picked up All-GLIAC First Team kudos and senior Garrett Simons was a second-team recipient.

This year marks the second consecutive year in which both DeBoer and Rhody have claimed league recognition for the Bulldog women's team.  Simons was an honorable mention choice a year ago on the men's side before attaining second-team status this season.

The All-GLIAC women's selections were based upon a player's stroke average in her nine best rounds of league play, including the league tournament.  All ties were broken by stroke totals in the conference event.

All-GLIAC Men's Golf selections were based upon a player's stroke average in his 15 best rounds in league play, including the three rounds of the GLIAC Tournament.  All ties were also broken by total strokes in the conference tournament.

The Ferris State men's golf team will be making its 10th NCAA Tournament Regional appearance in a row as the Bulldogs have earned a trip to Missouri for the 2012 Midwest/South Central Super Regional, which will take place May 7-9 at The Jefferson City Country Club in Jefferson City, Mo.

Selections for the NCAA-II Women's Golf Tournament are slated to be made later today.

Both Ferris State teams are guided by head coach Mike Mignano.
