Men's Golf Second Overall After One Round At GLIAC Spring Invite

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf team carded a 308 team score and is second overall following day one action at the GLIAC Spring Invitational on Saturday (April 20) in New Albany, Ohio.

FSU currently trails leader and host Ohio Dominican by two strokes heading into Sunday's final round of action at the Winding Hollow Golf Club.

The Bulldogs' Trent Davison and Andrew Jared are both tied for fifth overall in the field after carding identical 76 scores on Saturday.

Ben Cook came in tied for ninth following round one with a 77, Sam Stark was tied for 26th in the field with a 79 and Luke Trocchio posted an 82 to place tied for 45th after the first 18 holes of action.

In addition, for the Bulldogs, Zak Kiefer competed as an individual and is also tied for fifth in the field with a 76.

The individual leader is Wayne State's Tyler Laserra, who shot a one-under par 71 score.

Wayne State is two strokes behind the Bulldogs in third place with Grand Valley State fourth (312) and Northwood fifth (315) in the 13-team field.

The event wraps up with final round play on Sunday.
