Bulldog Men's Golf Moves Up Two Spots In Second Round At GLIAC Championships

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf team shot an identical score, but moved up two spots in the team standings after day two action on Sunday (Oct. 6) at the 2013 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships at Eagle Eye Golf Club in Bath, Mich.

The Bulldogs recorded a 308 team score in Sunday's 18 holes of action after posting the same results on Saturday in first-day play of the 54-hole event.  However, FSU moved from a share of 10th place into eighth place based on the results of the second 18 holes of competition.

Ohio Dominican posted a 303 team score on Sunday and leads the pack with a 599 figure after two rounds heading into Monday's (Oct. 7) third and final day of action. Meanwhile, Ashland is second overall (602) followed by Saginaw Valley State (607), Malone (608) and Grand Valley State (609) in the top five overall.  Ferris State's 616 team score to date is only nine shots out of third place.

Ben Cook followed up his opening-round 72 score with an 81 on Sunday and is tied for 19th overall at 153 following the second round. 

Next in line for FSU are both Chris Eaton and Andrew Jared, who are tied for 32nd overall with 155 figures.  Eaton fired a 76 on Sunday to go with his 79 in round one while Jared came back with an impressive one-over 73 total in the second round after starting with an 82 on Saturday.

Senior Trent Davison is tied for 37th in the field at 156 on rounds of 76 Saturday and 80 on Sunday.

Finally, Sam Stark is currently tied for 53rd individually with a 160 total as he bettered his opening-day 81 performance with a 79 in round two.

A total of 14 teams are competing in the GLIAC Championships with the Ohio Dominican combination of Nick Reardon and Tyler Smith currently sharing the individual lead with three-over 147 scores after 36 holes of play on the par 72 course mearsuring 7,117 yards.

Final day action at the GLIAC Championships will take place on Monday (Oct. 7) starting at 9:30 a.m. (ET).
