Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf team improved by six strokes and climbed seven places on the leaderboard Monday (April 13) as the Bulldogs wrapped up action in the Midwest Regional Tourney held at Purgatory Golf Club in Noblesville, Ind.

Ferris State, which shot 304 in Sunday's opening round of action, came back with a 298 figure on Monday in the final 18 holes of play to place tied for 11th in the regional field.

FSU opened the day tied for 18th overall in the 31-team field, but a strong performance helped the Bulldogs move up the leaderboard. Ferris State finished only 19 strokes out of first place as the event was won by Indianapolis with a 583 figure.

Junior Ben Cook paced the Bulldogs as he shared individual medalist honors for the second time this spring with a 141 total. Cook carded a two-under 70 in Sunday's opening round before coming back with a one-under 71 on Monday on the par 72 course.

Cook shared medalist honors with Walsh's Nick Paxos as both carded 141 scores over the two days of action. It marked his second first-place performance in the last three outings and third top-two finish in the stretch for the Bulldogs.

Senior Chris Eaton was next in line as he shared 78th place overall with a 153 figure on rounds of 77 and 76 over the two days of action, respectively.

The Bulldogs' Zak Kiefer and Tyler Siech both placed tied for 92nd in the field with 155 scores. Kiefer shot a 78 followed by a 77 in the final 18 holes while Siech posted a 81 on day one before coming back with a two-over 74 score in Monday's round.

Finally, freshman Seth Terpstra tied for 121st overall at 159 on rounds of 79 Sunday and 80 on Monday.

The Bulldogs will next be back in action at the GLIAC South Invitational on April 18-19 in Nashport, Ohio. The meet will be FSU's final regular-season outing prior to the announcement of the field selected for the NCAA Super Regional Championships in early May.
