Men's Golf Opens Spring Season With Fifth-Place Tourney Finish

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf team wrapped up its first action of the spring with a fifth-place finish at the GLIAC Spring Invitational held on Friday and Saturday (March 25-26) in Lexington, Ky.

The Bulldogs carded a two-round 617 total to finish at +41 for the tournament. FSU shot 317 in round one followed by a 300 team score in the final round.

FSU was led by Andrew Hammett, who placed tied for 15th overall at 153 on rounds of 79 and 74 over the two days, respectively. Seth Terpstra also carded a 153 total on rounds of 76 and 77 to also place tied for 15th in the field.

Next in line was Jack Weller, who finished tied for 23rd with a 155 figure. He shot an 83 in round one before coming back with an even-par 72 in the final round.

Ryan Bayer placed tied for 28th in the field at 156 on rounds of 79 and 77 overall while Justin Haase was 65th with a 172 total. He shot an 88 followed by an 84 in the final 18 holes of action.

The Bulldogs are back in action on March 28-29 at the North Alabama Invitational in Muscle Shoals, Ala.
