Ferris State Men's Golf Finishes Ninth At North Alabama Spring Classic

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf team wrapped up action in a highly-competitive field at the North Alabama Spring Classic with a ninth-place team finish on Tuesday (March 29) in Muscle Shoals, Ala.

The Bulldogs took part in the three-round event on the Robert Trent Jones Course at the Shoals, which was held over the course of two days.

The event was won by Lee University with a 865 team score as they shared first place with host North Alabama at 865 overall. Delta State placed third (884) with Limestone fourth (887) in the 15-team event.

Ferris State shot 913 for the tournament with rounds of 306, 298 and 309, respectively.

The Bulldogs were led by Seth Terpstra, who finished sixth in the field with a 215 score. He carded identical 72 scores in the first two rounds before firing a 71 in the final 18 holes of action.

FSU's Jack Weller placed tied for 44th at 230 with a rounds of 77, 73 and 80 while Andrew Hammett was tied for 50th overall at 231 with scores of 75, 77 and 79 in the three rounds.

The Bulldogs' Ryan Bayer came in tied for 73rd with a 244 figure as he shot an opening-round 89 followed by a 76 and 79 in the last two rounds.

Finally, Justin Haase placed tied for 78th at 250 with scores of 82, 84 and 84 overall.

Ferris State's Justin Arbour competed as an individual and was tied for 68th on the strength of a 81, 79 and 79 for a 239 total.

The Bulldogs are next in action on April 2-3 at the NCAA Midwest Region Invitational #3 event, which takes place in Batavia, Ohio.
