Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University sophomore Jack Weller (Swartz Creek) of the Ferris State University men's golf program capped off the 2015-16 campaign by being chosen among the top players in the Midwest Region.

Weller was one of 12 players recently named to the 2016 Division II PING All-Midwest Region Team as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America.  A total of 112 players from across eight regions - East, Atlantic, Southeast, South, Midwest, South Central, Central and West - earned all-region honors this year.

As an all-region honoree, Weller is also now eligible to receive All-America consideration with the official announcement of this year's All-Americans slated to be made in the near future.

This year marks the first time in his collegiate career in which Weller has attained all-region kudos. He previously was also named to the 2016 All-GLIAC Second Team for his performance in his second season with the Bulldogs.

This season, Weller placed among the top 25 golfers in six tournaments, including four-straight in the fall. He was the runner-up at the NCAA Midwest Region #2 event and finished with six showings among the top 10 in tournament action.

The two-year letterwinner placed 37th at the 2016 GLIAC Championships before wrapping up the campaign with an 11th place individual showing at the 2016 NCAA Division II Midwest/Central Super Regional held at The Meadows Golf Course in Allendale.

The Ferris State men's golf team received its 14th consecutive NCAA Tournament bid this past season. FSU's current 14-year NCAA Championship appearance streak in men's golf ranks as one of the longest active stretches in the country. The Bulldog men also placed fourth overall in this year's GLIAC Championships.
