Men's Golf Shots Identical Rounds Over Two Days At GLIAC North Fall Invitational

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf team shot identical rounds over two days of action en route to an eighth-place team finish at the 2017 GLIAC North Invitational hosted at HawksHead Links in South Haven over the weekend (Sept. 16-17).

The Bulldogs shot back-to-back 303 team scores to finish +30 for the tournament with a 606 figure.

Ferris State was led by Andrew Hammett and Jason Martinus, who both tied for 21st overall with a 149 score. Hammett shot a 76 in the first 18 holes of action followed by a one-over par 73 on Sunday while Martinus carded a 75 in round one before closing with a 74 in the final round.

FSU's Tyler Siech tied for 46th overall at 155 on rounds of 76 Saturday and 79 Sunday with Josh Jeffords two strokes behind at 157 in a share of 49th place. He posted a first-round 76 followed by a 81 in the final 18 holes.

Meanwhile, Brad Walling came in tied for 53rd in the field at 159 on rounds of 82 Saturday and 77 on Sunday.

Ferris State will next compete in the Findlay Fall Invitational on Sunday and Monday, Sept. 24-25, in Findlay, Ohio.
