Men's Golf Finishes Tied For Eighth At Findlay Fall Invitational

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf team wrapped up action in the University of Findlay Fall Invitational by tying for eighth place overall on Sunday and Monday (Sept. 24-25) in Ohio.

The Bulldogs shot a 295 team score in round one before firing a 297 team score in the final round Monday to finish tied with Northwood at 592 overall for 36 holes of action.

Both the University of Indianapolis and Malone tied for first atop the leaderboard with 578 figures in the highly-competitive 15 team event. The opening round was contested at Red Hawk Golf Course, which measures 7,155 yards, while round two took place at the 6,747 yard Findlay Country Club.

The Bulldogs' Andrew Hammett tied for 11th overall with a 144 total as he shot a first-round 74 followed by a two-under par 70 in the final round.

Meanwhile, Tyler Siech posted a 146 figure, which was good for a share of 16th place. He carded back-to-back rounds of one over par 73.

FSU's Andrew Proctor also finished in the top 20 overall with a 147 total for a share of 19th place in the field. Proctor carded a one-over 73 in round one followed by a two-over 74 on Monday.

Ferris State's Jason Martinus placed tied for 63rd at 155 after rounds of 75 and 80 over the two days, respectively, while Brad Walling came in tied for 91st at 167 with an 84 in round one and a 83 in the final round.

The Bulldogs are slated to wrap up the fall season on Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 30-Oct. 1) at the Kyle Ryman Memorial hosted by Tiffin University in Tiffin, Ohio.
