Men's Golf Wraps Up Fall Slate With Seventh-Place Finish At Kyle Ryman Memorial

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf team finished seventh overall this weekend in the Kyle Ryman Memorial hosted by Tiffin University at the Mohawk Golf and Country Club in Tiffin, Ohio.

The Bulldogs moved up a spot on the final day by shooting a 293 total in the three-round tournament. FSU finished with a 883 team score (+19) on rounds of 294, 296 and 293 overall on the par 72 course measuring 6,685 yards.

Wayne State won the team championship in the 21-team field with a three-round 869 figure, which was +5 for the tournament.

The Bulldogs were paced by Andrew Hammett, who placed tied for eighth in the field with a 215 score. He carded a one-over par 73 in round one before shooting even par 72 in the second round and concluded the event with a two-under 70 score in Sunday's final round.

FSU's Tyler Siech also finished in the top 20 overall as he shared 17th place at 219 for the three rounds. His opening round was a one-under 71 and he then shot an even-par 72 in the middle 18 holes of action. Finally, Siech concluded the competition with a 76 on Sunday.

The Bulldogs' Jason Martinus and Josh Jeffords both tied for 37th place overall with 225 scores for the 54-hole event. Martinus shot 78, 75 and 72 while Jeffords posted scores of 73, 77 and 75 for the three rounds, respectively.

Finally, Andrew Proctor came in tied for 69th in the field with a 232 figure. He posted back-to-back rounds of 77 over the first rwo rounds before closing with a final round 78 score.

The event was the final slated competition of the fall for the Bulldog men's golf squad, which will resume competition in the spring for the 2017-18 campaign.
