Ferris State's Andrew Hammett Wins Medalist Honors In SVSU Spring Invitational

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf team hit the course again and came away with an 11th-place team finish at the Saginaw Valley State Spring Invtiational, which wrapped up on Sunday (March 18) at the Kearney Hill Golf Links in Lexington, Ky.

The Bulldogs hot a 299 in round one before coming back with a 296 team score to finish at 595 overall for the two days of action.

FSU had the individual medalist as Andrew Hammett won the event with a 138 score on rounds of 70 and 68 over the two days, respectively.

The Bulldogs' Andrew Proctor finished tied for 42nd in the field at 149 as he shot a 75 in the first round before coming back with a 74 on day two.

Ferris State's Josh Jeffords placed tied for 74th on rounds of 74 and 80 for a 154 figure with Humml Felix placing tied for 79th at 155. He shot a first-round 81 and a second-round 74 total.

Finally, Jason Martinus finished tied for 98th at 162 over the two rounds. He shot a first-round 80 and a second-round 82 score.

Ferris State will be back in action on Monday and Tuesday, March 26-27, at the Findlay Spring Invitational in Lexington, Ky.
