Ferris State Men's Golf Lowers Score Each Round In Three-Day Indianapolis Invite

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf squad lowered its score each day and came away with a 12th-place team finish at the University of Indianapolis Greyhound Invitational, which took place this week and wrapped up Tuesday (April 10) at the Purgatory Golf Club in Noblesville, Ind.

The Bulldogs finished the three-round, 54-hole tournament with a score of 904 overall. FSU shot a 304 in round one Sunday before carding a 301 on Monday followed by a 299 score in the final day of action on Tuesday.

Ferris State was led by Josh Jeffords, who placed tied for 26th in the field at 221 for the three rounds. He shot a 75 in round one followed by an even-par 72 in the second round before concluding the event with a 74 over his final 18 holes of action.

FSU's Andrew Hammett was four strokes behind Jeffords as he shared 39th place at 225 for the tournament. Hammett had a 76 in both the first round and the last round with a 73 in the middle round.

The Bulldogs' Andrew Proctor carded a 236 figure and tied for 79th in the field. After firing an 81 in round one, he came back with a 79 in round two and a 76 in the final round.

Ferris State's Humml Felix finished tied for 81st overall with a 237 finish. He shot an 80 on day one, then carded a 77 in round two and finally ended up with an 80 again in the final round.

FSU's Jason Martinus wound up 94th overall at 146 for two rounds as he posted a 73 in the first and last round, but did not register a score over the middle 18 holes.

The Bulldogs are slated to host their own Bulldog Invitational this coming weekend on Saturday and Sunday (April 14-15) at FSU's Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids.
