FSU's Andrew Hammett Individual Leader After One Round At GLIAC Men's Golf Championships

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf team opened action in the 2018 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships on Friday (April 20) at The Virtues Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio.

Ferris State carded a 321 team figure in the opening round of the 54-hole event.

FSU's Andrew Hammett is the individual leader following round one on the par 72 course measuring 7,243 yards as he shot a one-over par 73 on Friday. He holds a one-shot lead over five other golfers in the field.

The Bulldogs' Andrew Proctor shot a 81 and is tied for 36th overall with Humml Felix tied for 48th with a first-round 83 score.

Ferris State's Jason Martinus was only a stroke in back of Felix as he shot an 84, which was good for a share of 50th place.

Finally, the Bulldogs Brad Walling shot a 86 and is tied for 52nd.

Action continues at the GLIAC Championships with round two play on Saturday (April 21) followed by the final round on Sunday (April 22).
