Ferris State Men's Golf Inks Three Talented Incoming Recruits

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf program and head coach Kyle Wittenbach have announced the names of three talented student-athletes who inked with the Bulldogs during the fall signing period.

The Bulldogs' 2018 fall signees include Nathan Kraynyk (Shattuck-St. Mary's) along with Tanner Moore (Byron Center) and Trent Barth (Davison/Goodrich). All three will join the Bulldogs next fall in preparation for the 2019-20 season.

"We're thrilled to land these three individuals, who will help us continue our climb among the nation's best," said Wittenbach. "With such a strong senior class this year, it was important to bring in talented performers to go along with our returning players and we have been able to do just that.

"Tanner has just scratched the surface of his abilities and Trent knows how to get the ball in the hole and that's what it's all about," he added. "I also believe Nathan's work ethic is difficult to match and we are excited to have him join us."

Kraynky, who was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, but raised in Saudi Arabia, prepped at Shattuck-St. Mary's High school where he shot a low competitive round of 71 in the Manitoba Men's Amateur. He is the son of Rodney and Wendy Kraynyk and plans to major in FSU's acclaimed PGA Golf Management program.

"I'm thrilled to join a program that will help me reach that next level in my golf career while working towards championships with my teammates and coach," he said.

Meanwhile, Moore has had a stellar career at Byron Center High School and fired a low round of 66 in the 2018 Kent County Classic. The son of Jimmy and Sandy Moore, he also intends to major in the Bulldogs' PGA Golf Management program.

"Ferris State feels like the perfect place for me to grow as a player and teammate," said Moore.

Finally, Barth also has had a standout career in the prep ranks in Michigan at Goodrich High School. The Davison native shot a 67 in the Flint Junior Golf Championship at Swartz Creek Golf Club and is the son of Boyd and Shawn Barth who intends to pursue a degree in Business Marketing at FSU.

"I'm thankful for the opportunity to play for Coach Wittenbach and I am already preparing to compete in the fall of 2019," he said.

The Bulldogs will return to action with the first spring competition slated for March 7-8 at the Saddlebrook Spring Kickoff in Tampa, Fla.
