Ferris State Men's Golf Finishes Fifth In Large Field At Findlay Spring Invite

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf squad finished fifth overall in the Findlay Spring Invite, which wrapped up on Tuesday (March 26) at the University Club of Kentucky course.

The Bulldogs shot a two-round 591 total in the two-day event with scores of 293 on Monday and 298 on Tuesday to finish at +15 for the event. A total of 22 schools were in the large field.

Senior Jack Weller led the Bulldogs as he placed tied for third individually with a 142 total for the 36 holes of action. Weller shot a 69 in the opening round and closed with a 73 to finish -2 for the tournament.

Fellow senior Andrew Hammett tied for 30th overall at 149 with a round of 73 Monday followed by a 76 on Tuesday. He was +5 for the two days of action.

Next for the Bulldogs was Thomas Hursey, who came in tied for 37th overall with a 150 total. Hursey shot a 74 in round one and a 76 in the second and final round to go +6 for the tourney.

Senior Seth Terpstra tied for 70th overall at 154 with a first round 81 and a final round 73 total. He wound up +11 for the two days.

Finally, the Bulldogs' Jason Martinus finished with a 155, which was good for a share of 80th overall. Martinus carded a 77 in the opening round before notching a 78 Tuesday for a +11 finish.

The Bulldogs are next in action on Sunday and Monday, March 31-April 1, at the Parkside Spring Invitational in Kenosha, Wis.
