Bulldog Men's Golf Fires Impressive Round To Grab Day One Lead At Greyhound Invite

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf team shot an impressive round of 282 and holds the lead following opening round play on Sunday (April 7) at the University of Indianapolis Greyhound Invitational in Noblesville, Ind.

The Bulldogs presently lead the 18-team field following the first 18 holes of the 54-hole event, which runs thru Tuesday (April 9) at The Purgatory Golf Club. FSU is five strokes ahead of second-place Missouri-St. Louis (287) entering Monday's second round of action.

Senior Jack Weller led the Bulldogs and is currently tied for first individually after shooting a 67 on Sunday.

Fellow senior Seth Terpstra finished close behind Weller with a 68 in round one, which is good for a share of third place.

Senior Andrew Hammett posted a 73 score and is tied for 18th with Thomas Hursey tied for 31st in the field after carding a 74 in the opening round.

Finally, senior Ryan Bayer shot a 78 and is tied for 65th following round one action.

Sunday's opening round was played under cloudy, but dry conditions.

Round two action gets underway on Monday starting at 10 a.m. (ET) with the final round set for Tuesday.
