Ferris State Tied For Sixth After First Round At Bill Blazer Memorial

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf team shot a 296 first-round total on Friday (April 7) and the Bulldogs currently sit tied for sixth overall following day one play at the Bill Blazer Memorial in Urbana, Ohio.

FSU finished the first round at +8 overall in the event, which is being held at the Urbana Country Club and hosted by Ohio Dominican University.

In the opening round, Davenport shot a 288 total to grab the day one lead with both host ODU and Wayne State tied for second at 289 in a field of 14 schools.

The Bulldogs were led by Caleb Bond, who carded an even-par 72 in round one and is tied for seventh overall.

Both Zach Koerner and Adam Arif Madzri shot two-over 74 totals and are tied for 25th in the field with Daniel Shattuck two strokes behind them with a 76 for a share of 39th place overall.

Finally, Mitchell Geik carded a first-round 86 and is tied for 82nd on the board.

Day two play is set for Saturday (April 8) in the event.
