The Midwest/Central Regional is being hosted by Winona State University and consists of 10 teams from the Midwest Region along with 10 from the Central Region. Four individuals from each region are also competing in the 54-hole tournament.

At a minimum, the top three teams and two student-athletes from each regional (regardless of region) will advance to the 2023 NCAA-II Men's Golf Championships slated for May 22-26 at Avalon Lakes in Warren, Ohio. The remaining eight team berths will be allocated based on the regions represented in the prior year's head-to-head medal play portion of the championships, with the maximum number of teams from a given region capped at seven. The finals will be hosted by the Mountain East Conference and Avalon Lakes at The Grand Resort.

Along with Ferris State, those teams from the Midwest Region who are making the super regional tourney appearance are top-seeded Grand Valley State followed by Missouri-St. Louis, Missouri S&T, Findlay, McKendree, Wayne State, Maryville, Ashland and Davenport in front of FSU in respective seeding order.

Meanwhile, Henderson State (Ark.) is the Central Region's top seed and followed by Northeastern State (Okla.), Harding (Ark.), Washburn (Kan.), Central Oklahoma, Southwestern Oklahoma State, Southern Arkansas, Missouri Southern State, Central Missouri and Bemidji State (Minn).

In 2017, the Bulldogs earned runner-up honors in the 2017 NCAA-II Midwest/Central Super Regional in Kearney, Neb., before going on to a national quarterfinal finish. In 2019, the Bulldogs placed tied for third at the super regional and reached the NCAA D2 National Championships, placing 20th overall. FSU also made the field two years ago in 2021, finishing 10th overall in Super Regional play in Ferris State's last appearance.

This year makes this the 18th time in the past 20 years in which the Bulldogs have had representation in the NCAA Tournament when it has been held. The stretch of NCAA Championship representation in men's golf ranks as one of the best stretches in the country.
