Ferris State Men's Golf Finishes Fall Season Strong With Third-Place Team Effort

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf team closed out the fall season in strong fashion on Tuesday (Oct. 17) as the Bulldogs climbed up the leaderboard to finish third overall at the Doc Spragg Invite in Findlay, Ohio.

FSU, which started the day tied for fifth overall, shot even par in the final round to finish at -4 for the 54 holes of action. Grand Valley State won the event with a -23 total followed by host Findlay at 10-under. A total of 16 teams were in the large field.

The Bulldogs were led by McCoy Biagioli, who placed tied for 16th individually with a 214 figure at two-under for the event. He shot a 74 in both Monday's first round and Tuesday's final round with a second-round 66 posted in between in day one action.

Ferris State's Nathan Kraynyk finished tied for 22nd in the field at 216 for the tournament, shooting even par thru the three rounds. He carded a 70 and a 74 in day one play before shooting a 72 in Tuesday's last 18 holes.

FSU's Adam Arif Madzri fired a 69 in the final round and placed tied for 27th individually with a 217 total at one-over par for the tourney. He had shot a 77 in round one and a 71 in round two on Monday.

Meanwhile, Caleb Bond finished tied for 31st with a two-over 218 score for the three rounds, posting a 73 in the last round following scores of 70 and 75 in day one play.

Finally, Zach Koerner wound up tied for 53rd on the leaderboard with a 223 total at +7 overall. He opened with a 72 and a 75 in Monday's two rounds before closing with a 76 on Tuesday.

The event wrapped up a successful fall season for the Bulldogs, who will resume their spring schedule for 2023-24 in March. FSU closed the fall with five-straight top three finishes in five fall tourneys, including one team cahampionship at the Bulldogs' own B&R Investments Fall Classic held in late September in Big Rapids. Ferris State also had a pair of runner-up finishes and a two third-place efforts during the fall season.
