Ferris State Men's Golf Starts In Second Place At Kentucky Wesleyan Invite

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf team continued its strong play this fall as the Bulldogs recorded a 290 overall team score in round one of the Kentucky Wesleyan Invitational on Saturday (Oct. 28) and sit second overall heading into the final round in Owensboro, Ky.

FSU opened the event held at The Pearl Club in Owensboro with a second-place 290 figure and trails opening day leader Missouri S&T by only a single stroke in the 16-team field on the par 72 course. The Bulldogs went two-over par for round one.

The Bulldogs were led by Caleb Bond, who shot two-under par 70 and is tied for third individually. Behind Bond was Zach Koerner, who fired a 72 and is tied for 11th in the field.

FSU's McCoy Biagioli carded a 73 and is tied for 14th on the leaderboard with Nathan Kraynyk tied for 27th at 75 for the round.

Finally, Ferris State's Adam Arif Madzri carded a 77 in the first round and is tied for 41st in the field.

The Bulldogs' Kole Putnam also competed individually and is tied for 68th overall with an 81 in the first 18 holes of play on Saturday.

Day two action continues on Sunday at 8:30 a.m. (ET) in Owensboro.
