FSU Posts Runner-Up Finish At Kentucky Wesleyan Invite As Bond Claims Medalist Honors

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf team had another strong performance, earning runner-up honors at the Kentucky Wesleyan Fall Invitational that wrapped up on Sunday (Oct. 29) at The Pearl Club in Owensboro, Ky.

The Bulldogs shot a two-round 580 total and finished only five strokes behind Missouri S&T, which carded a 575 total for the 36 holes of action. FSU shot identical 290 scores in both the first round and the second round.

Overall, a total of 16 teams were in the field with Southern Indiana taking third (585), Maryville fourth (588) and Parkside fifth (590).

FSU's Caleb Bond earned individual medalist honors for the Bulldogs with a 140 figure on back-to-back rounds of two-under par 70 on the par 72 course that measured in at 6,816 yards. He finished one shot ahead of Missouri S&T's Isaac To, who shot a 141 overall. Bond was four-under for the two days.

The Bulldogs' McCoy Biagioli finished with a 144 total, notching a one-under par 71 in the final round after opening with a 73 on Saturday. He tied for seventh overall in the field.

Meanwhile, Nathan Kraynyk shot a 148 for a share of 20th place in the event. He opened with a 75 and closed with a 73 in the final 18 holes of action.

Ferris State's Adam Arif Madzri carded a 153 figure and tied for 38th overall along with teammate Zach Koerner. Madzri fired a 77 in round one and a 76 in round two while Koerner notched a first-round 72 followed by an 81 over the last 18 holes.

FSU's Kole Putnam also competed as an individual and wound up tied for 73rd overall with a 167 total, shooting an 81 in the first round and a 86 in the second round.

The tournament, which was a late addition to the FSU schedule, wrapped up the fall portion of the 2023-24 season for the Bulldogs. Ferris State will resume competition for the spring in March.
